Charles County. We assist those interested in adopting cats and dogs that have either been surrendered to us from owners who can no longer care for them or transferred from other shelters where they faced euthanasia. We also have many volunteer opportunities, a pet food pantry that offers temporary assistance to pet owners, and a small gift shop within our facility.

If you're still feeling the holiday spirit as the spooky festivities wind down and the Jack-O-Lanterns have dimmed, please consider donating some delicious treats for our animals in need! 🎃 Our Kitty Cottage is running VERY low on Churu treats, and our Canine Clubhouse could always use more pill pouches/Greenies Pill Pockets to ensure our dogs are receiving the medicine(s) they need to thrive. 🐾

As always, we also accept any brand/size bag of pet food (even opened bags!) -- many of these donations go towards our AniMeals program to help local pet owners in need. ❤

You can drop off any donations in person in our donation bins located just outside our buildings (our address is 1099 Pralle Ln, St. Charles, MO 63303). You can also shop for several of these treats on our Amazon Wish List and have them delivered to us! 👻 Thank you to our wonderful village for always helping keep our furry residents happy and healthy. ❤

Ruby is a stunning 6.5-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as her ears and a soul as soft as her fur. 🥰

Recently surrendered through no fault of her own, Ruby's previous owner faced a major life change and made the incredibly difficult decision to let her go, knowing Ruby deserved the very best care and attention.

Understandably, Ruby is still adjusting to this big change. Shelter life has been overwhelming for her, and she’s having a tough time making doggy friends right now — who can blame her? 😓 Because of this, Ruby is currently looking for a calm, loving home to spend her golden chapter in where she can be the only dog. However, she’s more than happy to share her space with cats and humans of all ages! ❤️

Which leads us to our next point: she’s the friendliest German Shepherd we’ve ever met! 🥹 She’s affectionate, loyal, and always ready to lean in for cuddles. Once she feels safe, her goofy and gentle nature will melt your heart, and her happy romps around the yard will always bring a smile to your face.

Halloween is TOMORROW (‼️) and it appears we have a slight issue between two of our Canine Clubhouse residents as we prepare for the big night...they both want to go trick-or-treating in the same shark costume. 😅

We're going to talk to Zoey and Redd about the importance of sharing and taking turns, because they BOTH rock the look, in our opinions! 🩵 They're wondering what the Internet says, though -- who do you think wears it better? 👀🦈 Debate in the comments below! (Zoey and Redd say that each vote should = one treat. 😆)

Today this dog was left on our property. We have concerns about his health and overall quality of life, and are seeking to learn more about this dog. IF THIS WAS YOUR DOG, please email our director directly at [email protected].

THERE WILL BE NO JUDGEMENT that you left him here. Because he was left here, we have to hold him on a 10 day "stray hold" before providing him with medical care. We would very much like to be able to provide him medical care sooner, as we believe he needs it.

Contacting us allows us to learn more about what health issues he has been experiencing and how we can best help him. You will also legally sign the dog over, so we can begin to give it medication and treatments ASAP.

PLEASE, if this is your dog, we understand you were trying to do the right thing for it, but we need information and the legal ability to give him the care he needs.

Lani wants to know: do you think she's cute? 🥺 The other dogs in our Canine Clubhouse may or may not have giggled at her satellite ears and shorter figure, but we've reassured her that we love all her features, and that she's got the cutest smile ever -- and she's been saving her best smile for her forever family! ❤

At about 4 years old, Lani was found as a stray and transferred here to us to find her happily-ever-after. Her spirit is just as bright as her gleaming white coat, and her affectionate nature makes her an absolute joy to be around. Despite what other pups may think of her, she does amazing around other dogs, and cannot WAIT to be part of a family who will love her as much as she'll love them! 🐶 While out in our play yard, Lani's content to walk around and sniff, but she would much rather stick close to her people and soak up all their pets and attention (and she'll always be thrilled to model for photos!). 🐾

Lani's always greeting visitors with a smile and a wag of her tail, inspiring us all with her unwavering hope and kindness. Angelic in both looks and personality, this sweet girl is ready to bring love and light into her future household, so stop by our Canine Clubhouse this week to meet her for yourself and tell her how cute you think she is! 💖

You've heard of Dumbo the Flying Elephant...now meet Silas the Flying Puppy! 🪶

At 4 months old, Silas has made leaps and bounds (literally) in his progress here with us! We pulled Silas from a rural pound, where he faced euthanasia at just 2 months old. 😓 When he first arrived, he was understandably nervous and shut down, having never known what caresses from a loving hand felt like or what a warm and comfy bed was. Now, after spending some time in a foster home, this floppy-eared fella is more than ready to soar to great heights with his forever family! ❤

With ears as big as his, Silas is ready to listen and learn how to be the best doggo ever. He lived with children and other dogs in his foster home and did wonderfully! 🐾 He absolutely loves to zoom (er, fly?) around our play yard and smell all the smells, and will never turn down a delicious treat. He's been making steady progress on his leash-walking skills, and we know that with positive training and exercise, this handsome boy will make a great addition to any family.

Silas is back at our Canine Clubhouse, and is eager to possibly meet his destined humans this week -- stop by anytime between 1pm-6pm Tues-Fri or 11am-5pm Sat & Sun to visit him, or submit an online application today! 💌

from Pixie, who's taking today to practice being the best receptionist our Canine Clubhouse has ever seen (don't tell her we told you, but she already is 😍).

Much like her name, this magical 1-year-old pup spreads joy wherever she goes. She loves to dance and play with other dogs, as well as snuggle up with people whenever she gets the chance. 🥰 Pixie is potty trained, crate trained, and is already showing off exceptional leash manners, making her an enchanting companion for both indoor cuddles and outdoor adventures. 🐾 While another doggy sibling would be wholeheartedly embraced by this sociable girl, she doesn't really understand cats, so a no-felines household is a must! 🐶

It's clear that Pixie's main mission is to make her humans smile, whether it be pressing up close for pets, giving little kisses, or gazing into your eyes with a big grin on her face, reminding you of how much she loves you. (And yes, she'd be delighted to be your office receptionist, should you ever find yourself in need. 😆)

With a dash of whimsy, a sprinkle of pixie dust, and a whole lotta love, Pixie is bound to make her future home feel like it belongs in a Disney movie. ✨ She's headed back to her foster home after her receptionist training today, so submit an application to set up a meet & greet with this sweetheart soon! 💌
