Spirit and Solstice (formerly Grayson and Little Girl) have been on quite the journey since arriving at the café over a year ago. In a past life, they survived a hoarding situation that left them severely under-socialized—so much so that it was initially assumed they might be semi-feral.
But once they settled into the cafe, it became clear they weren’t feral at all… just scared, overwhelmed, and unsure how to trust humans. It took months of hiding before the smallest signs of progress began to shine through—signs that eventually led to their first adoption.
A few months later, they were unfortunately returned through no fault of their own. They spent time in a few foster homes, then came back to the café for one final search for their forever family. And during that time, both cats blossomed in ways we could only hope for.
Solstice, once hesitant and shut down, recently began greeting staff each morning—demanding pets and confidently strutting through the lounge to meet guests. Spirit, the more reserved of the pair, graduated from hiding completely out of sight to choosing a cozy spot where she could stay partially tucked away but still visible, accepting gentle pets on her own terms.
These two have overcome so much. Their progress has been slow, steady, and incredibly meaningful. And now, we are beyond thrilled to share that Spirit and Solstice have been adopted together by adopters who understand their history, respect their boundaries, and are committed to giving them the patience and time they deserve.
Here’s to a beautiful new beginning for this special duo.
