📢📢HWY 55 🛑🚧 (about a mile past us, towards Springfield) is going to be closed tomorrow as they install a new a crossdrain on Maud hill where the road fell. If this is your normal route, you should re-route. I'll try to make a post when we see they've re-opened.

I wonder if it will be super quiet in Maud tomorrow ( as a temporary dead end road ) or if our lot will be the best place for ppl to turn around & super busy?!

KY 55 in Washington County will be Temporarily Blocked Wednesday - Crews will be replacing a crossdrain

Bloomfield Road (KY 55) in northern Washington County will be blocked near the Nelson County Line at Milepoint 14.2 on Wednesday (September 10th) for crews to replace a crossdrain. Work will begin after 8am to avoid peak commute traffic and should be complete within a few hours. Motorists are encouraged to follow suggested detours of Mount Zion Road (KY 458) and Stringtown Road (KY 1858) around the work zone. Mobile message boards are placed on both approaches of the area to alert motorists of the upcoming work.

While Clint was bushhog'n Trent, I retreated to the shop for my fav playlist, some snuggles with the shop cat & an afternoon making earrings & watching tractors get unloaded! Pretty peaceful day in the Maud Valley & another busy week ahead. We are thankful! 🙏🫶🏻

We cannot express how much all of the love & support has meant to our family. Thank you all.

We also want to thank you for being patient with us the past weeks as we needed to shift around priorities while we said our goodbyes. Brandan has been a trooper managing the shop while we needed to be out.

Hutch lived a life some could only dream of. A pile of healthy kids & grandkids, a wife that loved him dearly to the end & never-ending stories filled with laughter, good memories with friends & family. Opening morning will never be the same without him. Rest Easy Hutch 💔

📢 Deer Health Update Ahead of Archery Deer Season Opener

🦌 Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD)
• Kentucky Dept. of Agriculture confirmed 8 new CWD positive deer this month at a Breckinridge Co. deer farm.
• No new detections in wild deer since the 2023 Ballard Co. case.
• CWD Surveillance Zone counties: Ballard, Breckinridge, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hardin, Henderson, Hickman, Marshall, McCracken, Meade, Union, Webster.

Regulations in the zone include:
✅ Carcass movement restrictions (only deboned meat, clean skulls, antlers, hides, taxidermy mounts may leave).
✅ No contact-style feeders (baiting still banned on public lands).
✅ Mandatory deer check Nov. 8–10 in Henderson, Union & Webster Counties.
✅ Special antlerless-only season Sept. 27–28 in all zone counties — heads must be submitted for free CWD testing.

🦠 Hemorrhagic Disease (HD)
• This virus (spread by biting midges, not contagious deer-to-deer) has been confirmed this year in Lyon, Scott, Warren & Wayne counties.
• Deer often found near water sources; some survive and build immunity.
• Does not affect humans or pets.

Alright gang, it's creeping up on us! 🏹🦌

A few things I learned about myself last hunting season... I need to practice more 🎯 & once it get's cold, I'm pretty fussy so these early months are about my only chance. I want to harvest my first turkey. No clue how that'll work out, but you'll know all about it if I pull it off.
