Feel Good Fri-YAY!

We received a referral from the VA in Ludlow to our Pet Family Housing Initiative this week. Allen is an elderly veteran who is unhoused with his dog Chase. He has been staying in a local dog-friendly motel but finances were running low and he had no where to go after Saturday.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Hampden District Attorney's Community Support program, Kane's sponsored two weeks at his motel. This gives Allen time to work with the VA on other support structures. We also delivered an emergency C.A.R.E. Kit of wet and dry dog food, treats, a dog bed, collar and leash and a toy. Chase is due for a wellness exam and some vaccinations. We are also going to get him his very own SPAW Day. In addition to a neuter, he will be chipped and receive a pawdicure.

The goal of our Pet Family Housing Initiative is to build bridges for unhoused pet families, veterans and domestic violence survivors in times of crisis. We focus on eliminating the barriers that would otherwise prevent someone from moving into housing with their dog. Stay tuned for pupdates!

Happy National Cat Day!

Just because our mission focuses on dogs doesn't mean that we don't love our cat furrends! In fact, Kane had a beloved cat named Zee who ruled the house - all 7 lbs of her!

So we're giving PAWS UP today to all our furrends working hard out there to assist cats and their people!

Feel Good Fri-YAY!

Baebae Pupdate

Thank you to all the Krusaders who donated towards Baebae's surgery! Because of your generosity, we sponsored $382.31 to have the eye removed. Baebae's hooman Mary contributed $400. And we want to give BIG Paws Up to our furrends at Swift River Vet for working on a Sunday to get this done!

As you can see from the picture, Baebae is doing great and feeling much better. She also had some teeth removed as well.

Thank you again for helping this pet family stay together! Together, we accomplish so much more!

Celebrating Lulu

Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of Lulu crossing the Rainbow Bridge today. Her hooman Kevin brought her outside as usual to enjoy the weather and when he went back to bring her in, she was gone. A beautiful girl on a beautiful, sunny day.

Lulu is the third OG Kane's dog to pass in the last few months. We have worked with this pet family since 2014. She was 17 - a testament to the power of love and companionship.

Kevin is understandably heartbroken. Please keep this pet family in your heart tonight. Lulu and Kevin were together as long as they were because of your support. Thank you for helping us keep loved dogs with their furever families.

OMD! Kanetoberfest ' 26 was a blast!

Thank you to everyone who showed up, dressed up, trunk or treated and shopped with our amazing vendors! And thank you to all our hardworking Board Members and Krew members for running the event smoothly - you made it look effortless (and we know it is not!)
