Happy Veterinary Technician Week from all of us at Mad River Veterinary Hospital! 🐾

We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible vet techs who help keep this hospital running You are the heartbeat of everything we do here. From the moment patients walk through our doors to the moment they go home, you’re there… providing care, comfort, and compassion every step of the way.

You juggle so many roles every single day: nurse, anesthetist, lab tech, groomer, phlebotomist, surgical assistant, counselor, and sometimes even magician. You do it all with skill, grace, and so much heart. You help comfort nervous pets, reassure anxious clients, and bring calm and confidence to every situation.

We see your hard work: the long days, the dirty moments, the emotional moments, the dedication that never fades…and we want you to know how deeply you’re appreciated. You make a real difference in the lives of every pet and family who walks through our doors, and we’re so proud to have you on our team.

To our amazing 19 vet techs & assistants here at Mad River, and to veterinary technicians everywhere- THANK YOU for all that you do.❤️🐶🐱

Join us in celebrating by tagging your favorite vet tech, commenting your favorite memory at MRVH, or sharing a message below!l

“King Julien” here has been visiting us weekly for laser therapy treatments.
This gentle, non-invasive, & drug-free process has helped him manage his chronic pain. He’s feeling better everyday!

💡 So, what is laser therapy anyway? 💡
Laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity. When the light is directed toward damaged tissues, it’s absorbed by the cells & converted into cellular energy. This process helps boost the body’s natural healing process & leads to
•Reduced inflammation
•Enhanced circulation
•Pain relief
•Faster healing
•Decreased nerve sensitivity

💡 Why do we use it? 💡
Laser therapy is benefical for a wide variety of conditions such as
•Arthritis
•Chronic & acute pain
•Post-surgical recovery
•Muscle, ligament or tendon injuries
•Wound healing
•Dental diseases
•Skin conditions & many, many more!
Laser therapy may also be used safely alongside other therapies, treatments or medications!

Reach out to our team if you think laser therapy might be right for your furry friend! 🐱🐶🐾

🐾FACT FRIDAY! 🐾

What is Leptospirosis & why does it matter for your dog? 🩺
You may have noticed Leptospirosis (or "Lepto" for short) on your pet's vaccine records and wondered what it really means. Don't worry-- you're not alone! Many pet parents aren’t familiar with this disease or the importance of its vaccine.

As of 2024, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) updated its official guidelines to classify the Lepto vaccine as a CORE vaccine. That means it’s considered essential for every dog-- regardless of size, age, or lifestyle-- due to how widespread and serious this disease can be.

Prevention is the best medicine when it comes to your pet’s health.
Check with our team to make sure your best friend is up to date on their Lepto vaccine! 😊
