Not only do we have playtime indoors, but we also have a covered section of yard for potty breaks/outdoor time and the dogs are monitored at all times, never left alone!

We’re back at it again with another PATT & we couldn’t be more thrilled to have done this for Sangamon County Animal Control!

The PATT is a series of short tests that expose the puppies to novel stimuli. During the tests, the puppies responses are record & assigned a number. The numbers correspond with the action or response the puppy has shown. It gives us a snapshot into the mind frame of the puppy. For training/puppy raising purposes, this helps us know how we need to support them!😁

*** All puppies in this post are available for adoption! That process involves a foster-to-adopt home until they are able to be spayed or neutered, then the adoption can be finalized. If you’re interested you can submit an application with SCAC! 😊

Meet Jinx!🐾

Jinx was brought to us for a PATT (Puppy Aptitude Temperament Test) & initial assessment. First we PATT, then we bring you in to discuss your puppy’s scores & create a training plan unique to what your puppy needs help with most!

The PATT is a series of tests that give us a snap shot of your puppy’s innate responses to new stimuli. They are then given a “score” based off their response. There are no high or low scores, just a number assigned to each type of response most commonly seen.

In short, the PATT is just another tool we use to gain insight so we can help you & your puppy be the best team you can be!!💚😁

These are the 3 most common types of management & we recommend them daily!

Regardless of which one you choose, please remember to advocate for your dog’s space & give them time away from the action to decompress.

Not every dog tolerates large social gatherings & that’s ok! What’s not ok is to appease family members or friends at the expense of your dog. Lets keep everyone safe & happy this Christmas!🎄😊

Our little buddy, Cruz (11 yrs old), was learning how to get his little dog, Frank, to pay attention to him today. Old school exercise for attentiveness with some twists. 🙂

Are you ready to get your dog trained for life? Rediscover Your Dog is running a group class aimed at leash skills, obedience skills and life skills. Start Date is June 22nd. We will hold class every Saturday afternoon at 2:45p for 10 weeks. We will be limiting class to 10 participants. Cost is $400.00. Dog must be at least 6 months old. Our Mission

Contrary to popular belief, we train all types of dogs… not just pit bulls. 😉

Pit bulls are very special to me. I have several bully breed dogs of my own and have fostered many bully type dogs over the years.

I’ve spent years looking for ways to better communicate with our canine friends.

I have attended workshops and seminars all over the United States. I am thankful to have spent time and learned from some of the best-known dog trainers in the business. The learning process never stops.
