Maverick and Beauty had a great time at the UKC Nosework trial in Springfield this weekend! They both earned multiple legs toward titles with numerous placement ribbons, and also had a chance to enjoy the beautiful trial site.

Scentwork is a wonderful enrichment activity for your dog! All handlers and types of dogs can participate, regardless of age or disabilities. Dogs with reactivity, low confidence/fearfulness, environmental instability and other behavioral issues will greatly benefit.

Controlling resources, dogs are competitive by nature just like us.

Resources are anything that the dog finds value in, food, space, property, the humans personal space, toys, the path to a resource and anything and everything in between. Just being a good coach and teaching them to be calm and patient and that will yield rewards goes a long way in adjusting and modifying behavior.

Contrary to popular belief, we train all types of dogs… not just pit bulls. 😉

Pit bulls are very special to me. I have several bully breed dogs of my own and have fostered many bully type dogs over the years.

I’ve spent years looking for ways to better communicate with our canine friends.

I have attended workshops and seminars all over the United States. I am thankful to have spent time and learned from some of the best-known dog trainers in the business. The learning process never stops.
