It’s Senior Sunday, and we’ve got a little gentleman who we would like to formally introduce. 💙

At 10 years young, Buddy is a pint-sized cutie pie with plenty of love left to give. He joined us a few months ago after his former family could no longer care for him, and it didn’t take long for us to realize something wasn’t quite right with his gait. Buddy ended up needing FHO surgery, but this little champ handled it like a pro. He’s recovered beautifully and, just a few days ago, officially got the green light to travel north to MA on our next transport! 👏

The good news doesn’t stop there: in his southern foster home, Buddy is doing great with his house training, crate training, and leash walking, and he’s ready to start his next chapter with a family of his own. 🏠

He’s hoping for a quiet home where people are around more often that not. He could also with teens, dog-savvy cats, and/or other small, calm dogs. Basically, a soft place to land, a comfy spot to nap, and people who will remind him every day just how loved he is!

Somebody out there must be looking for a big dog with puppy energy, an A+ social skills, and absolutely no concept of how much space he takes up on the couch. Right? RIGHT?! 🙋‍♂️

This nearly 9-month-old lovebug is currently tipping the scales at around 50 lbs, with plenty of growing left to do. Translation: if your ideal dog fits neatly in a tote bag, we’re going to have to point you in another direction. But if you’ve been looking for a big ol’ puppy with an even bigger heart and absolutely zero understanding of personal space? Well, hello there. 👋

Kelso has been making excellent use of his time in foster care, and he’s got a whole lot going for him that makes him a great match for most dog-savvy households:

🐕 Other dogs? He’s a social butterfly who gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes. A canine sibling who enjoys a good play session would be right up his alley!
🧒 Kids? Dog-savvy kiddos are welcome!
🐈 Cats? Yep! Kelso is cat-friendly, too.
🏡 No other pets? No problem. He’s more than happy to be the center of your universe.

And let’s not forget the important stuff: he’s got the life skills, the social skills, and the snuggle skills to make an excellent addition to the family. He’s basically a whole lot of good dog wrapped up in one very large, still-growing puppy package.

⭐️ Foster found! ⭐️

🚨 This is an emergency, friends. 🚨 Through absolutely NO fault of Sassy, a change in circumstances means her current foster can no longer safely care for her, and this 16-pound girlie needs a new place to land in Massachusetts, IMMEDIATELY.

A little about what she’s looking for:
📝 She’d prefer to be your one and only, but could live with well-matched dogs.
📝 No cats, please!
📝 Little kids make her nervous, so teens and up are more her speed.

Here’s what we’re REALLY hoping to avoid: if we can’t find a foster home by Sunday, our only remaining option will be to move her into boarding at a local shelter. 💔 After spending the last several months in a loving foster home, this would be a significant setback for a girl who is sensitive to loud, unfamiliar environments. It’s truly the last thing we want for her.

Next week, your dinner plans can help change an animal’s life! Join us Thursday, November 5 at The Rail Trail Flatbread Co. in Hudson, MA, where 20% of sales will benefit Brown Dog Coalition and help us provide lifesaving medical care to animals in need.

Just look at a few of the faces whose lives have been changed thanks to generous supporters like YOU:

➡️ Oreo and his siblings battled parvovirus, a devastating and often deadly disease, and needed intensive care to pull through.

➡️ Lester needed an amputation and is now happily navigating life as a three-legged kitty.

➡️ Debo was found as an emaciated stray with mange and needed some serious TLC to get back on his paws.

➡️ Ty needed treatment for megacolon, dental care, and ongoing pain management.

➡️ Peeta needed an amputation AND heartworm treatment. That’s a whole lot of medical bills for one very good boy.

➡️ Our tea-iffic litter of black kittens were found locally without their mama and needed a helping hand to get their best shot at healthy kittenhood.

And these are just a FEW of the 500+ dogs and cats we help every single year! Donations make it possible to tackle the big medical cases, provide everyday care, and be there for the next animal who needs us. We never want finances to stand in the way of getting an animal the care they deserve.

Welp, Santi is back on the market, and we need to make one thing VERY clear: this is through absolutely NO fault of his own! When his previous person could no longer provide the ongoing care he needed, we welcomed this 2-year-old fella back with open arms. 💙

He’s now safely back in one of our local foster homes, where we’ve learned that someone may have been a little too generous with the snacks. 😅 Santi is officially on a weight-loss journey to get back to a healthy weight, and he’s taking it like a champ! With some mindful mealtimes and extra exercise mixed in, we’re excited to help him feel more comfortable and healthy as he settles into his next chapter.

This social and active guy is hoping to find a pet-free home with humans around more often than not because his favorite hobby is soaking up all the attention. New people might have to earn his friendship for a day or so, but once Santi warms up? You’ve got yourself a new BFF. We’re picturing bird-watching sessions by the window, a very important role as your Zoom-call coworker, and plenty of biscuit-making and snuggles at the end of the day. 🥹

Remember that shy little Lulu we told you about previously? 🥹 Yeah, she’s officially in the rearview mirror because THIS GIRL HAS BLOSSOMED. Lulu has settled into her local foster home beautifully, and watching her confidence grow has been the best kind of glow-up!

At around 2 years old, this pint-sized scruffy gal is ready for her next chapter: finding a home to call her own! 🤞

Lulu came to us after being surrendered to one of our southern shelter partners alongside nearly 80 other animals. We wish we were exaggerating, but sadly, this is still a far-too-common reality in 2026. Despite her rough start, Lulu has come such a long way and is ready to let her personality shine with a family of her very own. 🥹

Her dream home? 🏠 One with at least one confident, playful canine friend to continue to show her the ropes and keep her company. Dog-savvy kiddos 10+ might be a fit, but younger children will likely be a bit too much for this petite lady. She also briefly shared space with feline friends, so cats may be A-OK with proper introductions!

Lulu has done the hard work of coming out of her shell. Now she just needs someone to give her the soft place to land she deserves. Could that be you? 🙋‍♀️

Yoda is still looking for his canine partner in crime, and we’re pretty sure your dog would like a word. 👀 This young, fun-loving guy is estimated to be around a year old, give or take, and weighs in at just 20 lbs. But don’t let his small stature fool you—Yoda LOVES playing with other dogs and would be thrilled to find a forever home with a canine BFF who’s ready to romp, wrestle, and keep the good times rolling. 🐾

When we asked his foster to tell us more about Yoda, she said: 💬 “Yoda is such a little sweet heart! He can be shy at first, or a little skittish, but once he warms up he wants to be close to you and will be your shadow and will follow you around from room to room. We are working on house training and he has been doing great - going out every two hours and getting treats and praise for doing his business. Yoda sleeps through the night in bed with us and then loves to play in the morning, then settles for a nap and enjoys more play throughout the afternoon with toys or my dog. He is still learning to master the stairs (especially going down) and walking on leash (he puts on the brakes and is very cautious). At the end of the night, he loves to cuddle up on the couch with me. His adopter(s) should be prepared to spend time and patience teaching him life skills, giving him plenty of love, and watching him blossom. I think he would do better in a quieter home, but enjoys having people around so much! I think a lot of chaos would overwhelm him though.”

Yoda hasn’t been around young kids or cats, so we can’t say for sure how he’d do with either. Apartments are a no-go, but if you’ve got the right setup and a dog who’s looking for a new sidekick, Yoda is ready to make himself right at home! 🙋‍♂️ He’s fostered in Boston and can head home ASAP with an approved adopter, so don’t wait—get that adoption app in at browndogcoalition.com/adoption!

Meet your new favorite smol fry: Dexter! 🐾 At approximately 5 years old and a whopping 13 lbs, this little guy may have some Maltese in his mix, but that’s just our best guess based on his good looks. And before anyone asks, nope, he’s not hypoallergenic! 🙃

Dexter is still learning the ropes of this whole family-dog thing, so his future family should be ready to help him master house training, crate training, leash walking, and all those other important life skills. And just because he’s pint-sized doesn’t mean he’s a couch ornament! Regular exercise and enrichment are still a must.

He could live with kiddos 10+ and other small dogs, but he’s much more of a PEOPLE person than a dog’s-dog. Furry friends are fine, but they’re not necessarily his preferred social calendar. Cats? TBD! Apartment living? Unfortunately, no! Dexter has some opinions he’s not afraid to share, making close-quarter living a little too noisy for everyone involved. 🏠

Dexter is heading north on our next transport and will be ready to head home with a pre-approved adopter on Monday, November 9! 🗓️
