TUX WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL HIS MEMBERSHIP TO THE TEMPORARY-HOME CLUB! Through absolutely no fault of his own, this sweet middle-aged guy has bounced around several times—including losing the only home he’d known for 7+ years. And once again, he’s now just days away from needing to move to yet ANOTHER home. 😭

The part that really gets us is that Tux has been an A+ houseguest every step of the way. He hasn’t caused these transitions. He hasn’t done anything wrong. In fact, the people who have opened their homes to him have all said the same thing: they wish circumstances hadn’t changed because Tux is such an amazing kitty. 🥹 But personal & family commitments have simply meant that none of these foster’s have been able to make a long-term commitment to foster him until he’s adopted.

But Tux doesn’t know any of that. He just knows that every time he settles in, he eventually has to pack his bags again. 💔 We REALLY don’t want his next stop to be another foster home. He deserves to finally exhale, put his paws up, and know he’s home.

👉 That’s why we’re searching for a foster-to-adopt for this guy!

This gives you the opportunity to welcome Tux home, get to know him, and make sure you’re the right match without asking him to pack his bags and start over yet again in another temporary home. Our goal is the fewest possible transitions for this guy from here on out! 🤞

Just keep in mind: Tux is looking for a pet-free home where he can soak up all the attention. Cat-savvy older kiddos are A-OK, though!

He may be entering his second chapter as an almost-8 year old, but he’s bringing all those years of experience being a loyal companion. He’s been the good guy through every single transition. Now he just needs someone to make sure this one is the last!

His first birthday is coming up, and adoptable Luke has one very big wish: a family to call his own.

And honestly? This one hits us in the feels. Luke was born right here in one of our local foster homes. He watched his mama and every single one of his siblings find their people...and somehow, he’s still waiting.

For almost a year. 💔

Now, before you start thinking, “Okay, so what’s wrong with him...?”—there is absolutely nothing wrong with Luke! He just happens to know exactly what kind of home makes him happiest and we’re committed to finding him that home so everyone is set up for success.

For Luke, that means no kids, no other pets, and a family willing to let him take his time getting comfortable. Easy enough, right?

He’s an excellent work-from-home buddy who happily entertains himself while you’re on calls or busy. And apparently, Luke did not get the memo that toys are supposed to be purchased at a store because he finds pinecones and rocks infinitely more fascinating. 😂 So save your money on the fancy toys, folks. Luke says nature has plenty of options.

He’s house trained, crate trained, loves treats, and is super smart. His certified positive reinforcement trainer foster has been working with him on important life skills, so his future family gets a pup who already has a whole lot of training under his belt.

Luke would much rather romp around a yard than go for walks, and what he really wants is pretty simple:

A quiet, low traffic home.
A little patience.
Someone willing to let him earn their trust.
And a whole lot of love waiting for him when he does.

Now can we PLEASE make sure this sweet boy gets to celebrate his first birthday with the people he’s been waiting for? 🥺

MARTY IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS PEOPLE. And, respectfully, his people need to know what they’re signing up for. 😂

Marty is kind of a lot. And we mean that with so much love. 💙

At just 7 months old, this medium-ish guy is FUN, SMART, ACTIVE, VERY FOOD MOTIVATED—and has approximately zero interest in hearing that playtime is over.

Thanks to the feedback from his foster families, we’ve learned Marty is best suited for an active household where he can be the star of the show OR a high-energy dog who can match his enthusiasm. He’s still working on reading canine body language, so when another dog says “sir, I’ve had enough,” Marty says “COOL! SO ANYWAY…” 🙃

He’s also learning that his days of being a stray and having to fend for himself are OVER. Food? There will always be food. Treats? Plenty. Toys? We’ve got those, too. Love? Unlimited. But until that lesson is fully cemented, Marty will resource guard his meals if another dog gets too close, so separation during mealtime is a must.

Now for the part where we remind you why we’re still completely obsessed with this kid:

✨ He’s only 7 months old and 20 lbs.
✨ He’s hilarious and will keep you laughing all day.
✨ He’s incredibly smart.
✨ He will do basically anything for a snack, which makes training a LOT easier.

And once he’s had enough exercise, enrichment and excitement? HE TURNS INTO A NOODLE. 🥹 This wild child will melt into his favorite person’s arms and pass out like an oversized baby. It’s ridiculously cute. Photos do not do it justice.

Marty needs someone who sees a young dog with some growing to do—not someone looking for a perfectly polished finished product. He’s looking for someone ready to give a young dog the activity, consistency and positive reinforcement training he needs to grow into an incredible family dog.

So if your idea of a good time involves a dog who will keep you on your toes and eventually become your personal cuddle noodle…Marty would like to meet you. 👀

Our next transport will be heading north soon, and Lulu is hoping she gets a spot on it. 🚐 But there’s one catch: she can only make the trip if her person is already waiting for her.

Because Lulu is a shy gal, the last thing we want to do is put her through an unnecessary transition without knowing exactly where she’s going. So Lulu needs a pre-approved adopter ready to welcome her home on Friday, September 11. No adopter = no trip north. 💔

Her start in life was heartbreaking—she was confiscated alongside 80 other animals. Many of her canine siblings have already found loving homes, and Lulu is crossing every tiny paw that she’s next. And we know what you’re thinking: But she’s so shy still! Yep. She is. And that means she needs someone patient enough to let her come out of her shell at her own speed. 💕

But once 2 year old Lulu decides you’re her person? Congratulations. You have acquired a 13-pound shadow who would like to spend the rest of her life following you around and giving you her entire heart. 🥹

🏡 Fenced yard required
🐕 Needs confident, small female dog in future home
👧 Respectful kids 10+ approved
🐱 Likely OK with cats
🚫 No apartments

Lulu needs her person to come forward before the transport van leaves. Could that person be you? 👉 browndogcoalition.com/adoptable

Meemaw has officially entered her “I’m ready to go home now, please and thank you” era. 💅

This approximately 5 year old, 10 lb little lady has been patiently hanging out in her Worcester foster home, perfecting the fine art of being adorable and waiting for the right human to come along. 🤞

She isn’t the dog who’s going to demand a 5-mile hike at sunrise or turn your living room into a WWE arena. She’s more of a “could we maybe just sit on the couch and ponder life together?” kind of girl.

She’s currently living with multiple dogs and is perfectly content to coexist with them. She’s also lived happily with dog-savvy cats and could do well with older, respectful kiddos who understand that friendships are built at their own pace. When it comes to her people, though? That’s her love language. Give her a lap and she’ll happily make herself at home! 🏠

She’s still working on her house training, she’s doing great with her crate training, and a fenced yard would be lovely—but isn’t required. What she really needs is a quieter home where she can settle in, feel safe, and become someone’s little shadow. 💕

If your version of the perfect dog is small, sweet, a little quirky, and fully committed to the “let’s just stay home” lifestyle, Meemaw would like to discuss this arrangement immediately. 😉

3 lucky pups are officially en route to MA! And the best part? These three cuties already have families waiting to welcome them home on Monday. 🥹

Our southern partners are drowning in dogs, and every adoption we make means one more spot opens up for a dog who desperately needs out. That’s the ripple effect. One dog gets adopted → one spot opens up → another dog gets to safety. 🧡

That’s why we’re so grateful for every single one of our fosters, volunteers, and—of course—our adopters. You are the reason we can keep saying YES to dogs who desperately need us.

Three dogs safe. Three families made whole. And three more spots opening up for dogs who desperately need them. 👏👏👏

PRINCESS HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.
And she would like everyone to know that this is, in fact, her chat. 💅

This scruffy little gal is approximately 1 year old, 10 lbs, possibly part Terrier, and approximately 100% convinced that everyone she meets is there exclusively for her entertainment.

Her people got divorced and, unfortunately, Princess ended up needing a new family. 💔 But she is not dwelling on it. She’s far too busy being a wiggly bundle of joy who loves toys, people, other dogs, and handing out approximately 1 to 1 million unsolicited kisses.

Her foster says Princess will make you belly laugh all day long. She has never met a stranger, loves a good zoomie session, and is always ready to investigate what the neighbors are up to. 👀

Once she’s gotten her wiggles out, Princess is perfectly happy to snuggle up and watch Netflix with you. She’s also working hard on her house training, crate training, and leash walking in foster care—and at just 1 year old, she’s got plenty of time to become the very good girl we know she can be.

👧 Kids 5+
🐶 Dog friends welcome
🐱 Dog-savvy cats could be a match
🏡 No apartments, please—this girl has a BIG voice and needs room to run

Basically, Princess is looking for a family who wants a tiny, hilarious, affectionate, slightly chaotic best friend who is prepared to make herself the center of your universe.

Ready to make Princess your girl? Head to browndogcoalition.com/adoption to find our adoption app!

We have posted about Lumie & Lalie. Multiple times. We have waited patiently. We have refreshed the inbox.

Not. One. Inquiry. 🤨
And honestly? We’re confused.

Because these girls are being fostered by some of our most experienced cat fosters, and their review is basically: BEST. FOSTER. KITTIES. EVER. 💕

They’re sweet. They’re loving. They’re easy. They’re affectionate. They’re genuinely no trouble at all. The kind of cats who make their foster parents wonder how they’re supposed to say goodbye. 🥺

Lumie & Lalie would be happy in a home with or without other playful cats. They’d just like to keep things dog-free, please and thank you.

So who is going to be the first person to look at these two and realize what the rest of you are apparently missing?! 👀

ATTENTION, BDC FAMILY:

It's National Dog Day, which means we need to see our alumni. 👀

Drop a photo of your BDC dog in the comments and tell us their government name, nickname, and the ridiculous thing they do that makes you love them even more. 💙

And because so many of our own volunteers have BDC alumni snoozing on their couches, stealing their blankets, and generally running their households…we'll go first! Swipe to see our adoption counselors’ good boys and girl hard at work behind-the-scenes.

Now it's your turn.
Let's see those BDC alumni! 👇

Bonus points for embarrassing photos. We know you have them. 😆

Friendly reminder that Zara is STILL AVAILABLE. And frankly, we’re not sure how!

She’s 2 years old.
She’s only 16 lbs.
She’s cute as a button.
She’s smart as a whip.
She’s crushing her training.
She just had her cherry eye repaired.
And she quickly decided that being a family dog is a lifestyle she would very much like to continue.

Zara came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past. But she has very quickly embraced the whole having a family, having a routine, getting spoiled, going for walks thing like she’s been doing it forever.

Her foster family has been giving her the consistency and structure she needs to succeed, and Zara is proving to be quite the quick study. House training? Working on it. Crate training? Working on it. Leash walking? Working on it. Being adorable? Nailed it.

She can live with other dogs around her size, kids 10+, and potentially a dog-savvy cat.

And because we already handled that pesky cherry eye surgery, her future family gets to check that particular item right off the list. You’re welcome. 😉 Now all Zara needs is the one thing we haven’t been able to find yet: Her people.
