This is a great example of what we mean by structured, unstructured training. She is participating in our everyday life while also having expectations on behavior and us working obedience to generalize the behaviors outside of our structured training sessions. If you can make training apart of your regular interactions you’ll have a better rounded dog. You can see, it didn’t take long and I’m still able to get work done while also incorporating training. It shouldn’t be one or the other because dogs don’t generalize behavior well. That’s why they do it in class but not at home or they do it at home but not outside or when people are around or etc. you get the point.
