About HavaHeart Rescue
Established in September 2016, HavaHeart Rescue (HHR) of Springfield, MO rescues and rehabilitates abandoned and abused dogs. In fact, HHR has rescued and rehabilitated over 1,000 dogs in its short tenure. They have done this based on the belief that every dog deserves the chance to live a happy and healthy life as a beloved family member. HavaHeart Rescue prides themselves on saving the underdogs - taking on the most broken dogs and transforming them into happy, healthy companions. Located in the "puppy mill capitol of the world," approximately 90% of the dogs rescued by HHR come from a background of commercial breeding, these dogs have unique needs that are not seen in other areas of rescue. HHR's intakes are almost always unsocialized and shut down, they have never felt a loving touch. Puppy mill dogs also bring with them a myriad of expensive medical issues due to years of neglect and over-breeding as well as poor breeding practices which lead to puppies with birth defects. These dogs are in desperate need of a safe and loving refuge and are placed in loving foster families that diligently advocate for their foster pup in order to rehabilitate and prepare them for family life.
