Senior Sunday: Meet Sundae! 🍨

November is Adopt a Senior Dog Month, and we’re kicking things off by introducing you to Sundae, a 9-year-old Maltese girl looking for her next chapter!

Sundae is still learning to trust people. She takes time to warm up to adults and isn’t quite ready for lots of cuddles or being held. She needs a patient home that will let her decompress, respect her boundaries, and allow her to build relationships at her own pace.

A few things to know about Sundae:

* Cats: Indifferent
* Children: Has been around children over age 8
* Other dogs: No experience
* Leash skills: Does well on walks.
* Crate: Sleeps comfortably in her crate overnight. During the day, she’d rather be near her people and may bark.

Sundae may not be the kind of girl who runs up looking for hugs, but she has her own personality and plenty of adventures left to enjoy. She’s looking for someone who will appreciate her for exactly who she is. ❤️

HAPPENING NOW!

We are currently in the process of rescuing 10+ Poodles from a situation of severe neglect. And unfortunately, the situation is heartbreaking.

There are several litters of puppies, multiple adult dogs, and multiple deceased dogs. These animals have been living in conditions no dog should ever have to endure.

The dogs we are working to save are going to need A LOT of care. Veterinary exams, vaccinations, deworming, proper nutrition, grooming, medications, and eventually spay/neuter surgeries. Some will need more extensive medical attention than others.

Taking in this many dogs at once is a tremendous undertaking, and we cannot do it without the support of our community.

We need donations. Every dollar helps us get these dogs the care they desperately need. If you're unable to donate, sharing this post is just as appreciated.

We know we ask a lot of our supporters, but this is exactly why rescue communities matter. These dogs deserve a chance at a life beyond neglect.

Hanky doesn’t have a foster, and that’s the spookiest thing about this Halloween! 👻

Hanky is a 6-year-old Dalmatian guy who gets along with other dogs and loves to play. He’s looking for someone willing to open their home and give him a place to land! I have also been cat tested and approved!

Dolly Pawton has officially taken home the crown in our Halloween costume contest! She had us working 9 to 5 voting for her, but this little country superstar was worth every minute.

From foster to forever.

In their own words:

“My main goal in signing up to foster/adopt was finding a good-fitting dog for adoption. I felt the time was right to bring a new dog into our home after a loss nearly a year earlier.
I expressed interest in fostering HHR Mister and adopting HHR Harvest. My heart was still more in the adoption column than the foster column. On a Monday, I was asked if I was still interested in fostering Mister, and shortly after, if I was still interested in adopting Harvest. My answer to both reps was ‘yes.’ I was asked to interview for the adoption that Wednesday.
I was in a quandary. I wanted to adopt, but I felt this foster needed me, too. I let the adoption rep know what was going on, and she followed up Wednesday morning to see where I was in my decision. I told her I had expressed interest in fostering Mister first, and I felt I had given my word. The rescue was already readying him for the transition to me, so I declined the adoption interview.
Sometimes we get what we need, not what we want. In a very short amount of time, I went from fostering Mister to being his new adopted mama. He needed me as much as I needed him, and if I had never fostered him, I would never have known what a wonderful fit we were for each other, peas and carrots. I couldn’t have asked for more.
The icing on the cake is that little miss Harvest got her new mama, too.”

Two happy endings from one family’s loyalty and a little bit of fate. Thank you for changing their lives!

Otto brings the confidence. Sinatra brings the toy collection.

Outgoing, blue-eyed Otto loves attention and likes to sit in front of his buddy like a tiny bodyguard. Sinatra takes longer to trust, but once he does, he’s there for cuddles, scratches, and toys.

These boys have spent their lives side by side. After more than 100 days in care, we’d love to find their home—together.

They need a calm household with adults or older, respectful children. Potty training is progressing; a consistent schedule and patience with sharing toys and resources will help.
