HavaHeart Rescue HavaHeart Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue based in Springfield, MO. In fact, HHR has rescued and rehabilitated over 1,000 dogs in its short tenure.

Established in September 2016, HavaHeart Rescue (HHR) of Springfield, MO rescues and rehabilitates abandoned and abused dogs. They have done this based on the belief that every dog deserves the chance to live a happy and healthy life as a beloved family member. HavaHeart Rescue prides themselves on saving the underdogs - taking on the most broken dogs and transforming them into happy, healthy comp

anions. Located in the "puppy mill capitol of the world," approximately 90% of the dogs rescued by HHR come from a background of commercial breeding, these dogs have unique needs that are not seen in other areas of rescue. HHR's intakes are almost always unsocialized and shut down, they have never felt a loving touch. Puppy mill dogs also bring with them a myriad of expensive medical issues due to years of neglect and over-breeding as well as poor breeding practices which lead to puppies with birth defects. These dogs are in desperate need of a safe and loving refuge and are placed in loving foster families that diligently advocate for their foster pup in order to rehabilitate and prepare them for family life. Here is an update from one of our foster parents! "Elvis Presley - 10 days post neuter and healing great! But more than the physical differences is the joy & honor of getting to participate in the blossoming soul transformation of a 20 month old dog who's had a rough start to life. There are challenges we work through daily with lots of patience and love. However, as much as I work with & help him he also helps me to slow down, pay attention, and be present in life's beautiful small moments."

💞Thank you to Elvis's foster family and all they've done for him. They said it best that we equally enrich and bless the human lives these foster dogs touch too.

🤍 Miss Piggy & Puppies Update 🤍

Over the past few days, Miss Piggy has continued to recover physically, but the journey for her puppies has been incredibly hard. 💔

After her c-section, Miss Piggy delivered eight living puppies, and one water born puppy. Despite round-the-clock monitoring and immediate intervention, we began losing puppies within the first day. Some were moved to a nursing mama right away, while the strongest stayed with Miss Piggy. We lost another puppy yesterday— the little boy. Sweet Miss Piggy started with eight living babies and now she’s down to only three.🪽🪽🪽

Our veterinarian saw the remaining three puppies and our nursing mama today. She was surprised that the smallest puppy was one of the ones we brought, which gave us hope. The puppies were started on antibiotics, and we were reassured that everything possible is being done for them. Unfortunately, even despite the best care, they are not gaining weight and we believe they are all suffering from Failing Puppy Syndrome. 💔

We are continuing to fight for them with everything we have. This isn’t something money can fix — so we are not asking for donations. But we are asking for prayers, positive thoughts, and all the good vibes you can send for these puppies and for Miss Piggy, who is still healing after losing her babies. Thank you for standing with us through the heartbreak and the hope. 🤍
