‼️ FERAL CAT POLICY UPDATE‼️
As our clinic has grown, we have become one of the few clinics in the area consistently able to accommodate feral cats. We are currently seeing an extreme increase in feral intake, from 3 cats a day to as many as 15.
While we are incredibly grateful to be able to help, this volume has become difficult for our staff and our overall surgery schedule to manage.
Our goal is NOT to turn away feral cats. We understand how difficult and stressful it can be to safely trap a feral cat again once they have been released. We want to continue providing this service, and these changes are being made specifically so that we can continue helping rather than eventually being forced to stop accepting ferals altogether.

Rescues: Maximum of 2 feral cats per day
Public clients: Maximum of 2 feral cats per day
🐱 FERAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
1. Feral cats MUST arrive in a humane live trap.
If a feral arrives in a carrier, we will unfortunately have to turn them away. This is strictly for the safety of both the cat and our staff.
2. ONE feral cat per trap.
Multiple feral cats cannot share a trap. We have been flexible about this in the past, but we are becoming stricter due to safety concerns we've experienced with multiple cats in one trap.
3. Feral cats will NOT be transferred into carriers after surgery.
This is a strict safety policy. If a feral becomes extremely agitated coming out of anesthesia, we need to be able to safely administer additional medication if necessary. Once transferred into a carrier, we do not have a safe way to do this.
4. Friendly/social cats are NOT considered feral.
We have tried to be flexible with this in the past because we understand that not every cat fits perfectly into one category. However, with our current volume, we need to reserve our limited feral spots for cats who truly require our feral program.
If you're unsure whether a cat qualifies, please speak with our staff before bringing them in. If a friendly or social cat arrives for feral stand-by, we may ask you to bring them back another day through our regular scheduling.
5. EAR TIPS ARE MANDATORY FOR EVERY FERAL
We know these changes may be frustrating, but please understand that this decision was not made lightly. We care deeply about the feral cats in our community, and we want to continue being a resource for them.
We also need to take care of our incredible staff and make sure we can safely care for ALL of our surgery patients. These limits are intended to help us find that balance.
