We are not affiliated with the National Humane Society – we are independent. We offer low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter services and adoptions. Spokane Humane Society has been serving the Inland Northwest for over 125 years. Spokane Humane Society focuses on the adoption of companion animals, spay/neuters and vaccinations through our veterinary clinic for shelter animals, no-income clinic services for animals, and our foster care program.

Benjamin truly aged like some fine w**e. 🍷❤️
This is sweet Benjamin, also known as Ben, Benny, and formerly Cotton Candy.

One of our friends at met Benjamin at our Everyday Adoption Center in 2024 and was overjoyed to share some adorable photos with us.

His family shares that Benjamin is the sweetest boy in the world and they are forever grateful to have him in their lives.

From a playful puppy to a charming canine, Benjamin has grown up surrounded by love. 🧡

We love celebrating stories like Benjamin's because whether it's a community partner, family, or a caring individual welcoming one of our animals into their home, the result is the same: a happy ending. 🐾

This energetic 1.5-year-old mixed breed pup approaches life with one rule: Have fun whenever possible.
🎾 Playtime? Big smiles.
🦮 Morning walks or jogs? Tail wagging at maximum speed.
🌙 Evening cuddle time? Expect plenty of puppy kisses.

Stevie has made dog friends while in our care after a slow introduction and would appreciate calm introductions to any cats or children in the home. This happy-go-lucky girl would also love to learn new tricks and manners... especially if treats are part of the lesson.

Meet Firecracker (M, 6 mos), a handsome sidekick with a gentle heart. This blue-eyed feline is a bit timid at first, but with some patience, he'd love to be your forever lap warmer. 🥰

Firecracker transferred into our care, so his history with dogs and children is unknown. However, he and his sister, Cherry Bomb, get along swimmingly!

We are only as strong as the community standing beside us. 🫶
Earlier this week we came on social media to ask for help finding foster homes for 13 animals in our care. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received. Thank you to everyone who shared our post, reached out, and offered assistance.

Answering our call for support creates second chances.

That support makes stories like Missy's possible. When Missy came into our care last month, we discovered she was in the final weeks of pregnancy and needed a foster home right away.

One incredible foster answered the call, giving Missy a safe place to welcome and raise her kittens. Today, Missy and her babies are healthy, growing, and preparing for bright futures. 🐾

The reason we don't always post urgent foster requests is because we're fortunate to have an amazing network of foster families already waiting to help when animals need them most.

Applying to become a foster doesn't always mean you'll be fostering right away. What it does mean is that when an animal in need comes through our doors, we're able to give them the care they deserve because of people like you. 🧡
