We have been very busy with regular ferret duties and helping our human friends. We are grateful for the recent donation of items for our yard sale. That will be in the first weekend of September.
We will also be doing another vendor parking lot sale this Saturday. We will post more about that this week.

Trying to put the p*e pads in the storage but left the lid open too long. The kids crawled in and were sleeping within 15 minutes. They stayed like that for over an hour. I just adore them.

I love it when rescuers can work together. We have been getting calls from all over the US for surrenders. This time was from Ellensburg. About 3 hours from us. However, they were moving further west so we reached out to fellow ferret rescuers closer. A few messages later, a ferret owner in a town close to where the the 3 ferrets needing to be surrendered is found. The owner had been trying for weeks to no avail. Having only 4 days left, he reached out to us and was going to drive hours to make sure his babies were safe.
While we have room, the better outcome has occurred. How wonderful to find a place, most likely permanent, for these babies.
Now this owner can take a breathe and know they are safe. What a wonderful Sunday.

I am finally able to post about these 2. They were rescued from a neglectful home and had to be hidden away until law enforcement was done with their investigation.
Now these boys get to head to their foster home while their owner recovers in the hospital.

We are so excited that Jasmine LV is on her way home to Joe.
It was such a heartbreaking day on July 4 when Joe was denied bringing Jasmine on the plane. He bought ticket in advance specifically for travel with his disabled precious service dog and Jasmine in a carrier. They said it was too hot. We are glad that he was able to find us and we rushed out to grab her.
Now she will be in Las Vegas in the coming days and they will be reunited.
We really need good stories like this.

The next ferrets surrendered on Sunday were these cuties, Cloud and Rinoa. Owner found out that it is extremely hard to find rentals that allow ferrets or that a person could afford the high non refundable deposits (usually $500 per animal). Cloud was a little overwhelmed so curled up on the ground for a snooze.

Please welcome Oatmeal. One of several surrendered this weekend. He is only 2 years old and a beautiful dark eyed white with a dark tail. We hope he will make some friends here or find that special family in the coming months.

Hey! Where are you going?
Maybe getting ready for a great sale where we will have a booth to sell items and raise money for all the ferrets here?

Parking lot pop up flea market from 10am-6pm at 6206 E Trent Ave in Spokane.
It is always a struggle to raise money for ferret care. Dogs/cats have tons of grants and supporters. Not the case with these precious souls.
Come stop by and say hello. We are sure you will find a treasure.

Smitty making friends with Meepers. He was one of 2 abandoned in an apartment a couple months ago. So happy he was able to recover from being starved. His friend is also doing well.

Please welcome Missy. She just lost her cagemate of 7 years and the owner wasn't wanting to get her and friend. We hope she will like some here. Overall she is very healthy for a 7 year old.

Our Story

We are a nonprofit dedicated to the education of prospective owners and current owners of ferrets. We also rescue and work to rehabilitate behavioral and sick ferrets along with finding homes for unwanted or "kicked out of their homes" ferrets. We are considered a no-kill shelter as we do not put to sleep current residents to make room for more. We cannot save them all but for those that are terminal, we are able to provide a loving, safe, pain-free last days. Our group is still in the working on gathering members so please stand by as we are "under construction". We have ferrets available, ferrets in rehab and can discuss surrenders on a case-by-case basis. No surrender fee just the cage they were in (if not "free-range"), their bedding and what is left of their food. Some discussions can also be made about temporary housing/board until your situation improves. We welcome visitors just wanting to know more about these funny little creatures. Along with the ferrets we also have several different cage styles in our ferret room so that you can see what may work right for you. If we can just teach you how to find the right ferret and their proper care, that is one less ferret that has to end up in a rescue/shelter situation. If you would like to become part of our rescue network, just let us know. We can discuss possible foster homes and other ideas to help with our group.

We are currently located in Spokane Valley WA, but assist ferret owners anywhere in the Inland Northwest.

Note that because the rescue is inside my private home, you must call or text me at 509-599-3327, to come visit. I work during the week so weekends and federal holidays I am usually home. We look nothing like the local animal control or humane society. Our ferrets our housed as if they were my personal pets.
