Lemur Appreciation Post!🖤🤍🤎❤️
For the past 8 years we have housed 4 different species of Lemurs at HL’s Safari. They are Red Ruffed Lemurs, Black and White Ruffed Lemurs, Brown Lemurs and the most famous, Ring-tailed Lemurs. We have been blessed to maintain healthy pairs of each to allow for these beautiful animals to have successful and healthy births at our facility thanks to our amazing zookeepers and vet staff. We are happy to have contributed to the conservation of these endangered species. Each of our Lemurs have their own separate characteristics from one another that inherently make them very special to us.
Lemurs are exclusively found on the island of Madagascar. They are apart of the Primate family but are considered Prosimians which is an extended branch of the Primate family tree. There are over 100 different species of Lemurs that derive from all corners of Madagascar. They are truly remarkable animals.
We would love to share our family to yours. Please come and visit if you are in the South Florida area for a truly remarkable experience!
