Our hearts are breaking for our friends and neighbors in LA during these devastating fires. These terrifying natural disasters remind us to remain prepared for ourselves and our pets. Here are some tips to keep them safe during emergencies.
🐕 Assemble a Pet Emergency Kit
Food & Water:
-3–7 days’ worth of pet food (dry or canned).
-Collapsible bowls or sturdy food and water dishes.
-At least 1 gallon of water per pet per day.
Medications:
-A week’s supply of prescriptions.
-Include instructions and vet contact info.
Comfort Items:
-Blankets, toys, and chews to ease stress.
🐾 Important Documents
Keep these in a waterproof bag:
-Vaccination records.
-Medical history.
-Photos of your pet (for ID purposes).
🦴 Identification & Containment
Microchip your pet and ensure the info is up to date.
-Tags with current contact info.
-Leashes, harnesses, and carriers (label carriers with your pet’s name).

🚗 Plan Ahead
