Ava had the best day today! She got to go on an outing at a 100‑acre Sniffspot with woods, fields, trails, a creek, and even a pond.
She was joined by two of her doggy friends: Sonic (one of our special‑needs foster dogs) and Willow (a volunteer’s personal dog). The three of them ran, explored, splashed, and rolled in the mud before slowing down to simply breathe, decompress, and enjoy the quiet.
Life in a shelter can be tough, especially for long‑term residents like Ava. She needs a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she’s your best friend. And with other dogs? She is phenomenal — social, playful, and so happy to be part of a pack.
Today was a reminder of who Ava really is outside the shelter walls: a sweet, social girl who just wants space to run, friends to explore with, and a person to finally call her own.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting or fostering a dog who deserves her big break… Ava is waiting.
