Group Class Success - Saturday 5/30/26
Everyone did great!! Lots of great pics.

We always do the foundations of the obedience training, and working through the distractions of my noisy annoying chickens. Then ,we did a pack walk down the bike/walking path and through the nature trail.
Every class brings improvement.

Group class success this morning.

What we worked on:

Place with attention
Come to a front, heel, side, and back to place
Come to middle
Eye contact with their leader while I use distraction toys
Loose leash Heeling with a loose leash Sit
Sit and leave it while playing co****le
Sit and leave it while doing ring toss
And we ended with Sit, tunnel, place front and Sit

Many proud moments for me as their instructor.
I’m proud that they showed up and they clearly have been working their dogs outside of class.

This is a six month old Dutch Shepherd, Maximus. He came from I believe somewhere around North Carolina as a litter through a rescue. They had not had him very long and he was pretty shut down and scared wouldn’t even leave their driveway to go walk down the street. But I knew at the evaluation he was going to get it very quickly because I had him walking down the street in the short 10 minutes of working with them.
We did a private lesson to get them started. They were tired over the next few weeks until today and it made the day train start just awesome because he is a very smart dog and he picked up the training very quickly. We’re still working on building confidence and some self-control. He wants to say hi to everybody and loves dogs so introduced him to Blu today and he just is the happiest friendliest sweetest dog. I can’t wait to see where he goes through this training and even after through group classes. Kudos to his family for putting in the work and knowing that they have to be consistent.
Dogs love boundaries they love to know that they’re doing right and they love clarity and that’s what we do

Group class was small but powerful.
We work on healing with no leash pressure, place cot work and holding the sit, heel with sitting the dog in motion, backing the dog up and went on a short pack walk. Thank you for bringing Ro, Ro and Zoro. Zoro is the large lab and has never been to a class before and he did pretty darn good for the first class. RoRo is always a star.

A private lesson - and the last one for this sweet girl, Cece. She might look nervous here because we were in Home Depot. That’s was a new experience for her. I cannot tell you how far she’s come through just 3 private lessons.
She wouldn’t come to me when I first met her. She would flip out on leash out in her front yard and when in her house, she would be in flight mode to the bedroom. Her mom has had her for two years and only recently was she able to give her a treat without throwing it to her. By the second training day when we went to a park, she was taking treats from my hand.
Today, she let me work her in Home Depot and walk away from her mama, and she was jumping up on me (at my invitation) and let me pick her up and hold her and gave me kisses.
She did fantastic. She wasn’t scared of the buggies or people walking by. We just pushed her out of her comfort zone. Got her to place on things and go say hi to people. I’m so proud of her and her mom and I know they’re going to go even further as they keep coming to group class.

Look at this pretty girl, Josie. She has been a handful. Full of energy. I think the biggest issues are the pulling and jumping and she thinks she’ has to go say hi to everybody and every dog. She’s the sweetest thing but she has to learn manners and boundaries, so that’s what she’s working on with us. She’s doing a great job for the most part with the heel. She’s walking loose leash now after four hours of training so far this is the first of her three day train she’s learning leave it very quickly. She’s a bit timid, but she’s lives on acreage and not really had exposure or structure that much but she’s on the right track
