🐾 Friday Night Fun at Artisan Alley in DeLand! 🐾
If you haven’t experienced Artisan Alley in downtown DeLand on a Friday night, you’re missing out! It’s such a fun atmosphere with great vendors, entertainment, and plenty of activity!
And if you’ve been there, you know just how incredibly busy it can get!
That’s exactly what makes it such a fantastic opportunity for real-world dog training! 🐕
Last night, we took our group class on a pack walk through all the excitement, and I couldn’t be prouder of how well everyone did!
This is where training really gets put to the test. Our dogs are expected to remain well-behaved and responsive to their owners, even with distractions coming from every direction. And when they struggle, that’s okay! We work them through it, because that’s how they learn and grow.
I especially want to give a shout-out to Moose, our adorable 6-month-old Boxer boy, who attended his very first group class! ❤️
Those first couple of group classes can be challenging for any dog, but throw in the overwhelming distractions of Artisan Alley, and you’ve really raised the bar! Moose was understandably a little excited and distracted at first, but once he settled in and realized he still needed to listen to his mama, he did remarkably well for such a young pup!
I was so proud of him, and honestly, I was proud of every single dog and handler who joined us!
Think about everything these dogs had to navigate: crowds of people, other dogs, live piano music, guitars and other instruments, busy sidewalks, passing cars, and even loud motorcycles cruising through downtown!
That’s a LOT for any dog to process, and it’s certainly not an easy environment to maintain focus and good manners.
But that’s what Sit Means Sit Dog Training is all about. We’re not just teaching dogs to behave in a quiet, controlled setting. We’re helping owners build the confidence and skills to take their dogs out into the real world and enjoy life together!
👏 Great job, everyone! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves and your dogs!
