Today, we honor the life of Diesel — a kind soul and gentle giant who crossed the Rainbow Bridge.🌈🐾

Diesel was more than just a dog. He was a loyal companion, a patient sibling to his human and furry brothers and sisters, and a constant source of comfort and joy to his family. Whether he was curled up in one of his favorite napping spots with a brand-new toy, or dashing into the kitchen at the sound of ice being scooped (because of course he knew that meant a treat was coming), Diesel made every moment count.

One of his most memorable and touching habits was the way he would lean into you while being petted — like he was giving you a hug. And truly, that’s exactly what he was doing. With every gentle nudge, every tail wag, and every icy crunch, he reminded his family just how deeply he loved them.

Diesel, your presence was calm and comforting, your love unconditional. You were, and always will be, so very loved.

🌈🐾 In Loving Memory of Kirby 🐾🌈

Today, we pause to honor the life of Sweet Kirby, a gentle soul who recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Kirby was more than just a pet—he was family, a loyal companion, and a constant source of comfort and joy.

One of Kirby’s greatest joys was going to the ball field to watch his favorite boy play. You could always find him on the sidelines, tail wagging, eyes full of love and pride, cheering on his best friend. It was clear to everyone around that Kirby’s heart belonged to that boy—and that bond was something truly special.

He was the sweetest boy, with a spirit that brought warmth to every room and a presence that made every day a little brighter. His family gave him a life filled with love, and in return, Kirby gave them his whole heart.

We know that saying goodbye is never easy, and that the loss of a beloved companion leaves an ache that words can’t reach. But we also know that love like Kirby’s never really leaves us—it stays in the memories, the quiet moments, and the spaces where paws once pitter-pattered.

As we celebrate the 4th of July, your friends at Cherished FurEver want to remind you that while fireworks light up the sky, they can rattle the nerves of our four-legged family members.🐶🐱

Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe and stress-free this Independence Day:

🔒 Secure their space – Keep pets indoors and away from open doors. Even the calmest pup can bolt when scared.
🎵 Drown out the noise – Soft music or a white noise machine can help mask those scary sounds.
💊 Ask your vet – For pets with extreme anxiety, talk to your vet about calming options.
🧨 No people food or fireworks! – Keep sparklers, glow sticks, and BBQ scraps far from curious noses.
📸 Tag & microchip check – Just in case…make sure your pet’s ID info is up to date.

If you’re unable to be a comfort and stay with the pets this evening, consider being a helper in another way. Just a thought: instead of buying fireworks, you could buy two cans of pet food to donate to McKamey Animal Center or Humane Educational Society.

Don’t make a noise—make a difference.

Fireworks may bring joy to some, but for many pets, they bring fear and confusion. Let’s turn that energy into compassion and care for animals who need us most.🐾

Did you know you can create a Rainbow Bridge Memorial in honor of someone else’s beloved pet?

That’s exactly what Eric and Lorie Mathis did. They saw their dear friends grieving the loss of a special dog named Taco, and they wanted to do something meaningful in his memory. They made a donation to our Rainbow Bridge Memorial Fund in Taco’s honor—helping other pet parents who are facing the heartbreaking decisions that come with end-of-life care but may not have the financial means.

Taco was deeply loved by his parents, Ron and Sue Lovelace, and now his memory lives on not just in their hearts, but through the kindness shared with others in his name.

If you’d like to honor a pet—yours or someone else’s—you can do so by making a gift to the Rainbow Bridge Memorial Fund. Your support helps provide compassion and care to families in need when it matters most.

Sometimes when families come in to bring or pick up their beloved pet, the weight of that moment is just too much—and words from us humans can only go so far. That’s where King steps in.

King is our official comfort companion, and he’s got a gift for knowing just when someone needs a little extra love. His gentle presence, sweet face, and unconditional affection have brought comfort to so many during one of the hardest days of their lives. In fact, families often say that seeing him was the moment they felt their first sense of peace—and he’s quickly become quite the celebrity around here.

King isn’t always in the office, but he’s available by request—and always ready to brighten someone’s day.
