This beautiful little girl needs a new home. She’s currently in a home with multiple cats and is stressed. She would do best as an only cat but may do ok with one other. Please reach out if you’d like to meet Sylvia.

Fun Facts about Norwegian Forest Cats
NFC’s are built for cold Scandinavian winters — that thick, water-resistant double coat is no accident! They’re known for being independent, intelligent, and a little on their own terms. Aang’s quirky personality fits the breed perfectly. They’re climbers by nature and love having their own space.

Aang looks like an absolute character. Those crossed eyes looking up at the camera are pure magic! 😄

Kitten season is one of the busiest and most overwhelming times for animal rescues. Our organization, Feline Rescue In The Ferry, is a local non-profit serving coastal North Carolina. We specialize in rescuing mother cats and kittens in hopes of helping end the overpopulation crisis where it begins.

Our devoted team of fosters and volunteers work tirelessly to nurture moms and kittens, providing them with safety, medical care, and loving foster homes until they are ready for adoption. Every animal in our care is microchipped and spayed or neutered before going to their forever home.

It all starts with helping the stray, abandoned, and neglected cats who have nowhere else to turn.

Like many rescues, we are often operating at full capacity, and adoption fees alone never fully cover the cost of rescue operations, medical care, food, and supplies. That’s why fundraising initiatives like this are so important.

By purchasing a t-shirt, you are directly helping support our rescue efforts. A portion of every sale will go toward saving the lives of moms and kittens in need and giving them a second chance at a safe, loving future.

You may purchase a shirt now until June 13th (June 23rd and July 2nd)

“It’s just another stray,” they say.
“I’ve never met a cat I liked.”
“It’s feral.”
“It’ll survive on its own.”
“Someone else will help it.”
“It’s just a cat.”
“It probably belongs to someone.”
“It’ll just keep having kittens anyway.”

The reality?

Stray and feral cat populations are a human-created problem. Cats don’t end up starving, sick, injured, breeding endlessly, or dying in the streets by accident. It happens when people refuse to spay and neuter, dump unwanted animals, or allow unaltered cats to roam without responsibility even when low-cost resources exist.

And many times, what people call “feral” is simply a homeless cat that’s scared, cautious, hungry, and trying to survive.

You do not have to love cats to have compassion.

If you see one suffering, please help if you can. Offer food. Offer water. Offer temporary shelter. Offer a garage, bathroom, crate, spare room, or even just time while rescue organizations try to find space. Share posts. Transport. Foster. Anything helps.

Rescues are overwhelmed and drowning nationwide. We only have so much space, so community compassion is the difference between life and death for many of these animals.

Doing something small will always matter more than doing nothing at all.

Kitten season is in full swing and there’s no slowing down anytime soon.

Today, Smudge was rescued after one of our alumni found her hiding in their vehicle. Neighbors said they had been hearing crying for days. Thanks to quick teamwork and a call to one of our volunteers, this tiny baby is finally safe this Memorial Day.

Rescue missions like this are exactly why people stepping up matters. Every kitten pulled from the streets is one less kitten suffering, starving, hit by a car, or continuing the endless cycle of the animal crisis.

Instead, Smudge now has a chance at safety, care, and one day, a loving home.

Every donation 100 percent goes to the are of our cats/kittens.

Jill is a sweet girl looking for her forever home. She’s wonderful with people and full of personality, but she has made one thing very clear at the rescue: she does not enjoy the company of other cats. She’s not shy about letting that preference be known, either.

Because of that, Jill needs to be the only cat in the home. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will adore you completely and make you her whole world, Jill is your girl.
