After nearly three decades of dedication, horsemanship, and countless memories, our longtime SRU IHSA English Club Coach, Amy Keefer of Thornwood Farm has decided to retire from coaching.

Amy has been an avid hunter rider and exceptional horsewoman for more than 50 years. She has been a cornerstone of the SRU Equestrian Club since its inception in 1997.

Throughout the years, Amy has helped countless riders from beginners to highly accomplished competitors to develop their skills, confidence, equitation, and horsemanship. She has coached numerous riders all the way to IHSA Nationals.

While we will certainly miss having Amy as our coach, we are very fortunate that she has agreed to remain involved and help in whatever capacity we need, especially making sure our shows continue to run smoothly! ❤️

And with that, we are excited to welcome Lauren Prisuta as our ne IHSA English Equestrian Club Coach! We are looking forward to seeing all that Lauren will bring to the program and hope she has a long and successful run as coach—just like Amy.

Thank you, Amy, for everything you have given to our riders, our horses, and the SRU English Equestrian Club. Your legacy will continue for many years to come!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our American Veterans! 🇺🇸

This past weekend, we had the incredible honor of recognizing and celebrating our American veteran riders from Storm Harbor Equestrian Center during the Spring Into Summer Ranch Show Series - produced by Hohmann Cattle & Equine❤️🤍💙

Our veterans proudly demonstrated their riding skills, dedication, and love for their horses—and we couldn’t be more proud of them! 🐴🇺🇸

After the show, we gathered together for a fabulous taco bar and enjoyed some great food, fellowship, and fun!

A HUGE shout-out to Jodi Stocks and her family for all of their hard work preparing the delicious taco bar and, of course, all of the AMAZING cookies! 🌮🍪 Everything was absolutely wonderful!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a special day for our veterans❤️

We’re excited to announce a new addition to our Ride for the Cure class this year!

To help make sure every organization honored through this class is eligible to receive support, NEOHA will be approving all organizations prior to the show. Organizations must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our goal is to support causes that are meaningful to our exhibitors — and especially to shine a light on local charities and organizations making a difference in our communities. 🫶

So, exhibitors, we want to hear from YOU! 👇

Help support SRU Western Equestrian Club!

As we kick off another semester at Slippery Rock University, our Western Equestrian Team is getting ready for another exciting show season! 🐴💚

This year, we’re raising money to purchase matching show shirts for every rider on our team. Having matching shirts will help us to look uniform for our team photos. As well as make sure everyone on the team has a nice shirt to show in!
