November will bring the chill, but this should warm you up! 🔥

There are still bookings available for Sweats for Pets on Sunday, November 8, a sauna fundraiser benefiting WCHS! Rok Wood Sauna will be parking their traditional, cedar sauna in our back lot! Relax and recover with a crackling fire and let the steam zap away stress, aches and pains.

Reserve the whole sauna for you and 8 friends, or book a single bench seat in a social steam session! Bookings are 75 minutes, which gives you plenty of time to fully immerse yourself, and cycle in and out of the sauna a few times to maximize the health benefits!

Join in a unique cold weather activity and support the pets of WCHS while you do it!🐶🐱

🐱 Kitten Season Isn't Over Yet! 🐱

We currently have 124 cats in our care, and the majority of them are kittens looking forward to finding their forever homes! ❤️

Many of our youngest residents have sensitive stomachs, so we're looking for donations of a few special food items to help keep them healthy and happy while they wait to make their debut on the adoption floor.

🐾⚡ Foster or Adopter Needed for Bolt! ⚡🐾

Meet Bolt, an 11-month-old Pit Bull with a big personality, a playful spirit, and lots of love to give! ❤️

Bolt came to us from MADACC on 9/11/26 and is ready to trade shelter life for a home where he can continue to grow, learn, and thrive.

What Bolt loves:
🐶Playing with other dogs who match his energy level
🐶Walking, exploring, and sniffing all the new sights and smells

As a young dog, Bolt is still learning his manners. He’s working on things like understanding that even though dogs play with their mouths, humans do not. He is also continuing his potty-training journey. He’s a smart boy who just needs a little guidance, patience, and consistency.

🏡 Shelter life can be overwhelming for a growing puppy, and we’d love to see Bolt in a home environment where he can relax, learn, and enjoy being a dog.

🐱 How does he do with cats? We’re not sure yet.

✨ A story of resilience and hope. ✨

When Journey arrived at our shelter as a stray, she was in rough shape and in need of care, compassion, and a second chance. Thanks to the dedication of our animal caregivers, the expertise of our medical team, and the love of an incredible foster family, Journey got exactly that.

Today, she’s living her happily ever after. 💕

Stories like Journey’s remind us why we do what we do. Every animal deserves a chance to heal, thrive, and find a loving home, and we are honored to be part of that journey.

Yesterday afternoon WCHS received a transport from Gulf Coast Humane Society in Texas. 🐶🐾 Most of the dogs are avaiable for adoption today from 1-5pm! 🐾

It’s hard to believe that this time last year, we didn’t have the medical team that we have now. Today, we’re proud to have a dedicated team of 5 medical staff members providing compassionate care to the animals who need us most.

From lifesaving treatments and daily checkups to supporting animals on their journey to recovery, your hard work, expertise, and kindness make an incredible difference every single day. ❤️

We are so grateful for each and every one of you and all that you do for the animals in our care. Thank you for helping us grow, helping animals heal, and making countless second chances possible.
