When dog games were at the top. So fortunate to have caught the tail end of that era of dog men. Will never forget Mr Wilfred McAnsepy, Mr John Pritchard, Mr Charles“Pops” Campo, Dr Ernie Cook, D**k Samuels and the others that not only had good dog sense, but were just awesome people!!

Some great dog men that are unfortunately not with us anymore. These men were the welcoming faces of Pontchartrain HRC and made the dog games enjoyable! So thankful to have met them 25 years ago 🦆

Two of the OGs who are now retired with us, “Tide” (Qual Placements/JAMs) and HRCH “Gypsy” MH (Qual JAM). Seems like yesterday they were 7 week old puppies. Thanks to Donnie Fitzgerald and Jim Morris for trusting us with multiple dogs over the years and letting these two retire with us!

Worth the read

Here’s a bit of information that I think needs to be shouted out to the entire South US. If you are using a heartworm product that has the active ingredient of milbemycin (Interceptor, Milbeguard, Trifexis, or Sentinel) or ivermectin (Heartguard, Iverhart, Tri-Heart) ,these products are NOT effective against the resistant strains of heartworms found in the South. Not accusing all vets, but vets should do better in their research. I am disgusted over continuing to hear of the use of these products recommended by vets in Louisiana and the dog coming down with heartworms. Use a product with moxidectin at least that is so far advanced from the others.I can provide plenty of studies. The milbemycin and ivermectin studies that show 100% effectiveness , are done with dogs without the resistance strain which are rampant here. I challenge anyone to find my one credible study with the resistant strain that show good results. I have several studies at least that back up these results. I could not find one with resistant heartworms that showed anything different.

About 15-16 years ago in Afghanistan. No title or ribbon I’ve earned will ever compare to the lives saved by those dogs I got to train. 🇺🇸
