First, I want to say thank you to all out clients for their concern and well wishes for Dr. Carrie. They are truly appreciated, more than you can know.
I’ve been working with horses for over 40 years, and this is one of the worst accidents involving a fall from a horse that I have ever seen. And it was a fall- Dr. Carrie’s horse got startled and did what horses do. Spooked and ran..
As most of you know, Dr. Carrie came home on Wednesday.
She called me at six that morning, and her hematocrit was still in the low range, they were going to take it again around 11 and if it was stable, she could come home. If it was lower, the next step would’ve been a splenectomy. Thankfully, it was stable.
She’s getting another blood test today, so I will know more about that later on
At the moment, the office will be open from 8am-1pm on our normal business days for medication pick ups and pet food sales. We do not have a doctor on staff to do any type of appointments. I don’t anticipate Dr. Carrie being back in the office until mid September, and even then it will be very limited as to what she can do(or what we will let her do).
❤️
I will try to keep you all updated as best I can, and once again, thank you for all the well wishes and concern
