We were so excited about Cali and Potato having 5 puppies. Well…Cali’s progesterone would not drop below a 3.8 then started going back up. So Saturday, October 5th, we decided to do the c-section. So glad we did or we might of lost Cali. She had a litter of 7 in her uterus…unfortunately 6 had passed away around 42-45 days. It was really weird because rads showed at least 5 developed fetuses and we saw heartbeats. Dr. Sullivan said this was a very weird case. One was fully developed with a ruptured sac. He is a fighter and we named him Rocky. Cali’s body thought she was no longer pregnant so she had no desire to be near him and no milk. So I bottled fed him plus let him nurse on his mama. He is about to be three weeks old and Cali is finally getting the hang of being a mom. It has been an adventure but Rocky is doing great! He already has a family who cannot wait to meet him. Truly blessed to have Cali and Rocky with us❤️ Thank you to all the staff at Cedar Lake Animal Hospital for all the love and care.
