🐾🐾 FOSTERS NEEDED 🐾🐾
Puppy Love Maternity Rescue has some dogs who would greatly benefit from being in a foster home until their forever home is found. If you would like to be considered to be a foster, please reach out so we can discuss.

We have two Cattle Dog x German Shepherd mix pups available to adoption or foster. They are about 12 weeks old right now and are super social, they've visited a brewery and met lots of new people, and are super fast learners. One boy and one girl available.

Boone is the sweetest boy. Nine months old and a big love. He absolutely loves kids! Good with female dogs. He's crate trained. A bit dominant.

Boone's dad, Cody is also available. He's 5 years old. (picture coming, but he looks a lot like Boone). He is not good with livestock, female dogs are okay, somewhat dominant.

Clover is a nice two year old Cattle dog who is the mom of the two pups we've shared here. The pups must look like dad ;) She's "dog selective".

Jillie is a Doberman mix and the mother of some pups who already found their homes. She's shy so she'll need someone with patience and a kind heart.

Lollie is a pocket cattle dog ;) She's likely mixed with chihuahua or some other small breed. She's shy, yet a bit sassy. Has a good recall, she's food motivated, wants to be a house dog and hang out with you, but does not like being picked up.

Please reach out if you've got room in your home and heart to foster or adopt any of these pups/dogs! And PLEASE SHARE!

Why do people love heelers so much

I honestly cannot explain why I am so deeply, irrationally, permanently in love with heelers.

On paper, they sound terrible.

They are suspicious, controlling, obsessive, bossy, emotionally intense, weirdly judgmental, and always prepared to launch themselves into a situation that absolutely does not require their involvement.

They do not believe in personal space. They do not believe in minding their own business. They do not believe you are capable of walking from one room to another without supervision.

They will herd children, goats, ducks, wheelbarrows, vacuum cleaners(carpet cows), visitors, shadows, and the concept of time itself.

They watch everything. They notice everything. They remember everything. A heeler can hear you quietly open a cheese wrapper from three buildings away, but somehow cannot hear you screaming their name while they are making a catastrophic decision at full speed.

They are monsters with the confidence of a police chief, the emotional regulation of a raccoon in a gas station garbage can, and the loyalty of something ancient.

And I love them so much it physically hurts.

Because underneath all the chaos, all the barking, all the side eyeing, all the absolutely unnecessary security patrols, there is this incredible depth to them.

They do not just love you. They attach themselves to you. They study your face. They learn your routines. They know when you are sad before you have even admitted it to yourself. They follow you through every part of your life, not like a pet, but like a witness.

They know your good days. They know your bad days. They know when you are pretending you are fine. They know when you need laughter, when you need company, and when you need a strange little blue creature to press its entire body against you like it is personally responsible for holding you together.

There is something almost unnerving about being loved by a heeler. It is not casual love. It is not polite love. It is fierce, watchful, possessive, hilarious, demanding, and completely devoted.

They choose you with their whole nervous system.

And once one of them has truly loved you, I think something in you changes. Other dogs are wonderful. I know that. I love other dogs.

But heelers feel different to me. They feel like partners. Like little wild souls who have agreed to walk beside you while still maintaining the right to question every decision you make.

They are exhausting. They are infuriating. They are too smart, too intense, too stubborn, and far too pleased with themselves.

They will embarrass you in public, ignore a reasonable command, attempt to fight farm equipment, and then fall asleep with their head on your chest like you are the only safe place in the universe.

And somehow, that is it. That is the thing I cannot explain. They make you earn their trust, but once you have it, they give you everything.

They give you their attention, their loyalty, their protection, their ridiculousness. They give you their whole enormous heart packed into one compact, muscular, emotional body.

I dont think I could ever have another breed. Not because heelers are easy.

Dear God, they are not easy.

But because once you have been loved by one, normal dog behavior starts to feel a little underwhelming.

I have apparently decided that what I need in life is a deeply devoted cattle moving creature who monitors my every move, judges my choices, bites tires, argues with windows, and loves me with the intensity of a thousand suns.

And honestly? I would choose that love every single time till Im too frail to survive the heeler parkour off my body.

Why do you love them?

Its hot out there!

And puppies still need outside play time.

Our puppies would love more water in the pools that everyone so graciously donated but we have our water hauled in😬

What this means right now is that when it is over 100 degrees the puppies get just a tiny bit of water in the pool. It quickly fills with shavings from their little feet because they LOVE it so much!!!

Please consider donating to our pool water fund 💕
Any donation will help!
Thank you so much 🌞 the puppies appreciate it!!!

Also this little guy is still available.

This guy is a talker 😂

One of his siblings tested with border collie in her and it wouldn’t surprise me if he has some also because of the way he talks🩷

Please share so this sweet puppy can find a forever home.
