I’m posting Mystic again, she really needs a forever home as a companion horse or a gorgeous pasture friend!

Mystic is off the feedlot and has been with us the longest. She’s late teens, beautiful mover, easily halters! She does require dorm gel for farrier work. She is up-to-date on vaccinations (April 2025), but did not require floating.

Mystic is not rideable! We’ve determined she was used as a bronc and is not safe to ride. She will not be adopted out as a bronc either. She gets along great with mares and needs to find her person.

We want to introduce you to our 2 new horses who have joined us at LBL! Meet Tango and Dot, both mares in their teens and both with very sweet personalities!

They’re a bonded pair so we’re taking them out individually to get more confident being apart. They’re still nervous but we expect them to settle in nicely over time.

The vet was out mid-July for their vaccinations, worming and an overall health check. We don’t typically get horses in who aren’t thin and needing a special feeding program, but vet suggests a reduction in feed for these two! So it’s all new to us!

If you’d like to schedule time to meet them, please let me know.

OMG, we’re coming up on our 10 year anniversary since LBL was created!!! What a milestone for us! I wish I had a number of how many horses have come through our rescue but each one of them we loved. Many found forever homes, some took a piece of our hearts when we lost them, but the memories we are left with warms our hearts.

We need to make room for helping abused and neglected horses! Our stalls are full and every horse here deserves a loving forever home!

We have 3-4 horses who would make amazing companions or pasture pets, additional horses that are projects and ready to be taken to the next level and we have 2 new additions recently added who are settling in and allowing us time to get to know them, their personalities and their quirks.

All have recently been vaccinated, teeth floated if needed and vet checked either end of April or mid-July. Our farrier comes out on a regular basis so their hooves are maintained.

Help us find them their forever homes! Please reach out to schedule a time to come meet them!

And a HUGE thank you for the years of support! ♥️

UPDATE: Clifford has found a new home! ♥️

COURTESY POST:

Clifford is a 24 year old Mustang gelding, healthy and sound . Only issue he has is some drooling, he may need teeth done. We have had him for about 8 years. He has not been ridden for about 5 years but has been with a trainer in the past, hauled to ride in the mountains, worked with the trainer at the feedlot. Gets along well with other horses, is not on any supplements and keeps weight on well. Could have years of riding and companionship left to offer someone.

Today, I wanted to share the devastating news of Blue’s passing. Sadly, he was unable to recover from colic and crossed the rainbow bridge with Kerry by his side. Kerry adopted Blue from us and if you followed his story of neglect and abuse, you saw the tremendous progress he made with a trainer and Kerry working with him.

I, personally, tend to root for the underdog and he stole my heart from day one. What Blue experienced with us was unconditional love, the understanding that not all humans would hurt him, and that he was capable of loving back.

As you can imagine, Kerry’s heart is broken and those of us who loved him while we could, are devastated.

Blue will never experience pain, neglect or abuse, ever again. Sadly, he took part of my heart with him. 💔😪

The weather has been crazy lately with high winds, rain, hail, etc. Yesterday I was out checking water troughs and just had to get some pictures of our beautiful Rosie! Her mane and forelock are to die for!

She is available for adoption and I will say, every one who meets her falls in love. She is a project, but has had 30 days ground training. ♥️

What a wild and crazy day we had at LBL yesterday! In the rain, in the wind and cold, we managed to work our way through vaccinations and teeth floating! Our amazing farrier was here working on hooves after sedation! Thanks Curtis! Here are some fun pictures of all of us working together! Thank you Dr. Sean and Dr. Ellyn from All Creatures!

We’re ramping up for our BIG Spring Clinic tomorrow as the vet team will come out for vaccinations, teeth floating, sheath cleaning and an overall health exam for all! This is a perfect time to consider one of our special rescues to adopt, either as a project or as a companion/pasture pet.

This Saturday, we’ll be open from 10 am to 1 pm if you’d like to come out and meet them. Just message for our address and we’ll be happy to introduce them to you!

We expect our veterinary bill to be over $2000 so if you’d like to donate, you can do so through PayPal or Venmo.

The last few days certainly feel like Spring and all the horses are shedding their winter coats!

We’ve been busy around the rescue, moving panels, reconfiguring stalls, grooming horses and more! Thanks to Casey S. for the 2 days he spent here helping us with panel moving and using his engineering skills to help figure things out! We’ve had another amazing volunteer who comes out 2-4 times a week and mucks stalls, fills water troughs and rotates horses out for exercise! Brian is a tremendous help! We sure appreciate all the help from Casey and Brian!

With the loss of Copper, we wanted to find another good fit for Keona out in the field. She certainly misses her ‘old man’ so we let Magic out and watched how they interacted. Quite funny, in the beginning when Keona wanted to go up to Magic, he’d walk away. Well, the 2 are doing so well together and we’re pleased to share these pictures

We had hay delivered Saturday and after Tigger checked for rodents, he felt the need to relax.

We have quite a few horses looking for a new home; some as pasture pet/companions, some green broke and some ready to be started. Schedule time to come visit!

For kids, we have minis in need of grooming and some love, goats who think they’re dogs and a cow who will lick them so they experience the feel!

Right now, were doing by appointment only !

If you’ve ever been out to the rescue, chances are you met our personal Old Man, Copper. He turned 36 years old this month, made it through another winter and had to be euthanized on the first day of Spring. Our hearts are broken, along with many others who knew him.

Copper will be remembered for taking on the Daddy role for every foal born here, allowing children of all ages the opportunity to meet a gentle giant and becoming Keona’s life partner.

We had 20 years of loving him but he gave us so much more. He could give hugs, knock you over rubbing his head on you and allowing us to kiss him when we wanted to. RIP Copper! He will always be in our hearts. ♥️💔😪
