Before you head out for a walk, take a quick second to protect those paws.

Try the 5-second test:
Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds.
If it’s too hot for you to hold it there, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

Hot pavement can cause burns, blisters, and pain fast, even on short walks.

A few easy swaps on hot days:
• Walk early morning or later in the evening
• Stick to grass or shaded paths
• Shorten walks when temps climb
• Consider paw protection if needed

Your dog depends on you to make the call. When in doubt, skip the pavement and keep it safe. 💙🐶

This week’s Pup of the Week is dedicated to Riley, a beautiful 9-year-old German Shepherd who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈

Anyone who knew Riley knew just how special he was. He was the sweetest boy with a huge heart, but when it came to protecting his mom and dad, he took his job very seriously. Loyal, loving, and always by their side, Riley was the kind of dog that leaves paw prints on your heart forever.

We know there are never enough years with them, no matter how much time we get. Our hearts go out to Riley’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
