Shelby County Animal Shelter - Ohio This is the "official" page for the Shelby County Animal Shelter in Sidney, Ohio. We enforce the Ohio Revised Code concerning dogs.

The Shelby County Animal Shelter is a County office designed to serve the residents of Shelby County. We answer calls for stray dogs, complaints of dogs running at large,as well as animal killsbydogs and coyotes in a timely manner. We pickup stray dogs, answer humane complaint and reports of loose dogs. Don't assume because the Police Dept. or Sheriff's Office is contacted that we will respond. Ca

ll us the following day on complaints and dog bites to make sure we are aware of the call and if we are responding. We are open to people looking for a pet, people looking for a missing pet, and to people who just want to look at the animals.We accept dogs and cats from owners as well as strays. A fee may be involved. Call the office during hours of operation to make sure. We offer dogs, puppies, cats and kittens for adoption. We are here for owners of lost dogs to claim their animals or report a lost animal. We have a bulletin board for people to offer animals to good homes and we have free information to the public on a variety of issues. We welcome any questions you may have about dogs, cats or the Animal Shelter.

This handsome boy is built like an athlete, with a muscular frame and a heart full of happiness. Zeppelin is outgoing, friendly, and always ready for his next adventure.

Of course, every adventure is even better with a reward! Zeppelin never says no to snack time and will happily show up for a tasty treat or a good meal.

If you're searching for a loyal companion who loves to stay active but also appreciates the simple joys of life (especially food!), Zeppelin may be the perfect addition to your family.

Meet our new crew!

Kittens: Selene (Female), Memnon (Male), Nero (Male) and Kane (Male)

Adult: Roxilana (Female).

They will be available to adopt tomorrow 7/15/2026.

They are all super cute and super sweet. Kittens are $35 to adopt and adults are $75. Cats are same day adoptions and do not require applications.

Maveith Found Her Forever Family!

Maveith was adopted by an amazing family with kids who are ready to spoil her rotten but we have a feeling one kid in particular will be doing most of the spoiling!

From the moment Maveith met the little boy pictured with her, there was an instant connection. They immediately loved one another, and it was clear they were meant to be best friends. We have no doubt these two will share a bond unlike any other and make countless wonderful memories together!

Chance and Chase have both found their forever families! These sweet little fellas didn’t have to wait long before finding homes that perfectly fit their personalities.

Judging by these happy faces, we think it’s safe to say that both families are thrilled and so are their new furry family members!
