Ready for the update?!

The final 4 breedings went like this:

🔹Spice ended up sadly not in foal despite everything! 😢

🔹Charlotte single ovulated and is in foal to VS Code Red again for 2026 for a AQHA/ APHA foal!!

🔹We were able to catch Millie’s big ole’ follicle in time and she is also in foal to VS Code Red for 2026 for a AQHA/APHA foal.

🔹Dolly did not look pregnant at her first scan but will check her again in a few days because she has slow developing embryos! Fingers crossed!!

✨Jamie is confirmed pregnant to Machine Made for January.
✨Patsy is confirmed in foal to One and Only Asset for January.
✨Teagan is due in February to Machine Made.
✨Lucy is due in March to No Doubt Im Lazy.

Normally around June 1st I’m packing up my ultrasound machine having finished my last heartbeat scan or 60 day scan of the season having done my last breeding sometime in April upon which I post a beautiful photo of an ultrasound image with an embryo with a strong heartbeat.

As anyone who’s followed me THIS year knows this season has been brutal with everything Mother nature could possibly throw at me!! All I wanted to do was breed eight mares to carry their own babies. Nothing crazy. No ET. No ICSI.

Recap in short? FOUR sets of twins, one post heartbeat check pregnancy loss, cancelled flights, embryos that failed to progress like normal and then ultimately failing and then mares with fevers. Embryos failing post twin reduction, etc.…

I have 4 great mares safe in foal for January and February, all whom have had heartbeat checks and passed their progesterone tests.

This last week was one big HAIL MARY.

The cutter mare, Spice, was bred Memorial Day weekend. Grateful that we could get it done since two of the three times we wanted to breed her the stud was showing and no semen was available.

Charlotte was bred Memorial Day weekend 🤦🏼‍♀️ and when she didn’t ovulate properly, I ordered a second dose, counter to counter on Memorial Day itself because there was no FedEx and then the flight was canceled… Had to hustle to the airport Tuesday to pick up the goods and breed her post ovulation. Fingers crossed!

Sweet Dolly, who I had totally given up on this year after being bred three times, conceived twins, had one of them reduced, embryo’s continued but then failed to develop properly then ended up with a crazy uterine infection. Ends up cycling properly while at the repro vet for clean up this week….. and what the hell… bred her.

Last but definitely not least was my beautiful Millie. Sweet girl settled with frozen semen like a charm back in February to RL Best Of Sudden. A cross I was dreaming about. She conceived, we made it to the 35 day heartbeat check and went to do a 60 day check and she had lost it despite being on progesterone the whole time!
She was checked every two weeks aftererwards with the hope to ICSI but never cycled well enough again due to the endometrial cup formation. UNTIL TUESDAY! Checked her and she was ready to BREED versus ICSI!
So I went for it.
🌟Christie Christiansen at Highpoint was phenomenal this last week! Pretty sure she’s tired of getting a text from me asking her to bail me out! Whether it’s a mare who has not ovulated and I need semen on a plane or a last-minute request at 10:30pm at night Texas time. My girl never let me down. I’m pretty sure she is one of the busiest stallion managers in the country and she never failed to deliver! Someone needs to give that woman a raise!

All that being said, I’m not packing up my ultrasound yet because I have four broodmares still to check in the next two weeks. But other than that… I’m done! What will be will be!
I have an amazing vacation scheduled with my sweetheart in just three weeks… 💜
