🐾 Exciting News for Our Patients & Families! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that we now offer specialized orthopedic surgeries right here at our clinic, in proud collaboration with the expert team at Colorado Vet Surgical!

Today was a huge milestone for us—we successfully performed two TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgeries to help two sweet pups get back on their feet and back to playing! 🐕💨

By bringing advanced surgical care in-house, we can continue to provide your pets with the high-level care they need in a familiar, comfortable environment.

Big shoutout to our team member, Anya, for successfully performing her very first ultrasound-guided cystocentesis! 👏🎉

What is a Cystocentesis?
A cystocentesis is a quick, safe technique used to collect a sterile urine sample directly from the bladder using a fine needle. By pairing this procedure with ultrasound technology, our team can:

Visualize the bladder in real time to ensure accurate needle placement.

Minimize discomfort and maximize safety for the patient.

Obtain a completely sterile sample free of external contamination, giving us the clearest answers for diagnostic testing!

Anya completed the procedure under direct doctor supervision while our patient was safely resting under anesthesia—kept cozy and warm under a fleece blanket the whole time! 🐶💤

We love watching our team grow their skills and provide top-notch, precise care for your pets! Way to go, Anya! 💪❤️

We are sad to share that Dr. Wood will be leaving South Platte Veterinary Hospital to pursue the next chapter in her life, with her last day at the practice being September 5.

We are grateful for the care and dedication Dr. Wood has shared with our patients, clients, and team, and we wish her all the best in what comes next.

We truly struck gold having Ashley on our team—and as you can see, patients like the adorable Lucky think she’s pretty wonderful, too! 🐶❤️

Ashley has been a rockstar in veterinary medicine since 2015, bringing her passion for internal medicine and a massive heart for animals (and their people!) to our hospital every day. 🩺💡 When she’s not here, this Colorado native is usually outdoors hiking, skiing, and traveling with her family and baby girl! 🏔️✈️
