This handsome boy was brought in by police last night, he was found by the caseys in Sanborn. He has a black collar and was attached to an in-ground tie-out system. He does not have any tags and will not let us check for a microchip. Please let us know if you know who he belongs to!

Meet our adorable little tripod, Gizzard who is ready to find his forever home! 🏡💕

He is neutered!

This sweet boy was found with a partially missing leg. To prevent potential complications and problems down the road, we made the decision to amputate the remaining portion of the leg. Now he’s healing up and ready to show the world just how amazing he is! 🐱❤️

He’s the perfect mixture of sweet and playful! One minute he’ll melt your heart with his affection, and the next he’ll have you laughing with his kitten antics. 🥹 He has so much love and life to give, and having three legs certainly doesn’t stop him from being a kitten!

He deserves a family who will see him for the wonderful little soul he is, not the leg he’s missing. He can still play, explore, cuddle, and do all the things kittens love to do. He just has a little extra special story to tell. ❤️

🚨 PYOMETRA: WHY SPAYING YOUR DOG AND CAT IS SO IMPORTANT! 🚨

This is a powerful reminder of why spaying your female dog or cat is about so much more than preventing unwanted litters. ❤️🐾

Pyometra is a serious, potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus that most commonly affects unspayed female dogs and cats, often within weeks after a heat cycle. It causes the uterus to fill with infected material and can quickly become a medical emergency.

🩺 Just look at the difference between a normal uterus and an infected uterus. A healthy uterus is small and relatively thin, while a uterus affected by pyometra can become severely enlarged and filled with pus.

⚠️ In this case, this dog’s white blood cell count was 88,000! A normal canine white blood cell count is generally around 5,500–16,900 cells/µL, so this was an extremely elevated count, indicating a significant inflammatory response. Pyometra can progress to sepsis, organ damage, and death if left untreated.

Some warning signs to watch for include:
🐾 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Decreased appetite
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Increased thirst and urination
🐾 Abdominal swelling or discomfort
🐾 Vaginal discharge — although some dogs/cats have NO visible discharge!

The good news? Pyometra is largely preventable through spaying. Spaying removes the uterus and ovaries, preventing this dangerous uterine infection in the vast majority of cases.

If your female dog or cat is not spayed, give us a call and ask about the best time to schedule her procedure. If she is unspayed and showing signs of illness, especially after a recent heat cycle, seek veterinary care immediately.

Update: he is home!!

This handsome fella is Chester. He is a 9 month old Great Dane and went missing in Ashton, he broke out of his collar and was just adopted from a rescue on Wednesday. He IS microchipped. His family is missing him terribly.

Found around 424 8th Ave. Samaritan will keep in his house today, but then put back outside. Please call if she is yours!

The pretty girl in the front with the yellow collar has gone missing from 6th st here in Sheldon. Her name is Ace and she is front paw declawed and is currently wearing a yellow collar.
