Update on Jasmine's litter!!!!
On July 18 Jasmine had a litter of 20 puppies. All went well. There was one still born and 19 puppies that survived. All nineteen puppies are doing well.
Maverick is one proud father but is of no help. Typical male.
Jasmine and I have put a lot of effort and time into this litter with very little sleep.
The puppies have been divided into two separate batches. The first two weeks the puppies were swapped out on Jasmine every two hours day and night so that they all had time to nurse.
Jasmine has been a good trooper about all of this with nursing and cleaning her children. I slowly introduced milk replacer with nursing to the puppies and then lengthened the time on Jasmine. They are now on softened food and slowly transitioning to solid food.
Jasmine is a super mom and has been spoiled with anything she wants to eat (hamburger, liver, cottage cheese along with high protein canned dog food and dry dog food). She was a high milk producing mother which helped out. All puppies and mother are doing well.
Jasmine has decided to retire from motherhood on this litter (the children have worn her out) so it is up to me to feed, clean, bathe and chase them around the facility.
My dream job will be to play with all nineteen at one time.
I hope to get pictures of all the puppies as time goes on but will be limited to group pictures at first.
Will keep everyone updated as these puppies mature.
There are 10 brothers and nine sisters.
Hoping to find loving homes for all where they do not have to compete for attention with all the siblings.
Living the dream.
