We love seeing your pets’ DNA results! While it’s always fun to learn what breeds make up your furry friend, DNA testing can also be really helpful. It can screen for genetic predispositions to certain diseases, help us stay on top of breed-related health concerns, and even give insight into behavior and enrichment needs.

We use this trough to help position patients on their backs for chest, stomach, and certain hip or hind limb x-rays. It keeps them supported in the right position so we can get clear images while causing minimal stress.

And sometimes they just make themselves right at home 💜

This week is National Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week, and at SVH that means it’s officially EMILY APPRECIATION WEEK!! 💛

Emily has been part of our team for almost 3 years. She’s the welcoming face you see when you walk through our doors, the one sitting with your hospitalized pet when they’re too anxious to be in a kennel, the one juggling a million things at once to keep the schedule running and make sure sick patients are seen, and handling countless other things behind the scenes we couldn’t even begin to list here.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without her 🐾 Be sure to show Emily some extra love this week 💛
