Real-world training is where obedience truly gets put to the test! 🐾

Goldie is working with Kennedy on her heel outdoors, practicing staying focused and responsive while navigating all kinds of distractions around her. From people and sounds to movement and the surrounding environment, training in these settings helps dogs learn that their obedience doesn’t only apply in a quiet training space—it applies wherever they go.

Building a reliable heel takes consistency, communication, and the ability to work through distractions. By gradually increasing the difficulty of the environment, we can help dogs become more confident, focused, and dependable in everyday situations.

At Precision Dog Training Academy, we believe training should prepare dogs for real life. Our goal is to help owners develop obedience that translates from the training facility to sidewalks, parks, neighborhoods, and other everyday environments throughout Kansas City.

We were honored to have the pleasure of training and caring for Apollo while his dad, Hunter Nourzad #64, took the field for the Kansas City Chiefs in their first preseason game of the 2026 season! Dior and Luna had an incredible time on their training outing, exploring new environments, practicing their obedience, and sharing plenty of sweet moments together—including an adorable snoot touch! 🐶❤️🐶

Our training outings are designed to expose dogs to real-world distractions while reinforcing calm behavior, engagement with their handler, and reliable obedience. Along the way, dogs build confidence, learn how to navigate new experiences, and enjoy positive interactions in a structured setting.

🐾 Happy Dogs, Happy Walks! ☀️🐶

One of our favorite parts of boarding at Precision Dog Training is getting our guests out for long walks to explore, stretch their legs, and enjoy some fresh air! Every outing provides an opportunity for exercise, mental enrichment, and plenty of tail wags.

Whether they're taking in new sights, practicing good leash manners, or simply enjoying time outdoors with our team, we love making sure every boarding guest has a fun and fulfilling stay.

Thursday is putting her training to the test!

Today, Thursday took a trip to Lowe's to continue building her confidence and obedience in a real-world environment. She's doing an amazing job holding her Sit-Stay around all the sights, sounds, and distractions of the garden center! 🌼🌿

Public outings like these are an important part of helping dogs generalize their training beyond the classroom, teaching them to remain calm, focused, and responsive no matter where life takes them.

Thursday is currently enrolled in our 3-Week Board & Train Program and is training with Madi. We can't wait to continue watching her confidence and reliability grow throughout her program! 🐕💙

Declan is having some fun with Madi during his Board & Train program at Precision Dog Training Academy!

While our main focus during a Board & Train is building reliable obedience, communication, and real-world skills, we also love taking the time to learn what makes each dog unique. Every dog has their own personality, quirks, and little things that make them special.

Moments like this are a great reminder that training is not just about commands — it’s about building confidence, creating engagement, and strengthening the relationship between dogs and their handlers.
