🐾 What an incredible weekend! 🐾

This past Saturday, Family Pet Hospital of Shawnee was proud to participate in the Dose of Love vaccine clinic, and what a tremendous success it was!

Dr. Scott, Lucas RVT, and Alex joined an amazing team of volunteers from veterinary clinics across the area, alongside the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City , to help provide essential vaccinations and preventive care to pets in our community.

Together, more than 1,000 animals were vaccinated during the event! 🎉🐶🐱

We are grateful to everyone who volunteered their time, donated resources, and helped make this event possible. Community outreach events like these help keep pets healthy, families together, and veterinary care accessible for those who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who participated and trusted us with the care of your pets. We are honored to be part of such a compassionate community! ❤️

We want to say "Congratulations" to Alex on graduating from the MCC - Maple Woods Veterinary Technology Program last night! 🎓🐾

We are incredibly proud of all of the hard work, dedication, and passion that brought her to this moment. Alex is such an important part of the Family Pet Hospital of Shawnee family, and we are so grateful to have her on our team.

We can’t wait to see all of the amazing things her future holds and the impact she will continue to make in veterinary medicine. Congratulations, Alex! 💙

🌸 Mother’s Day flowers can be beautiful for moms — but dangerous for pets. 🌸

As you celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, please remember that many popular bouquets and plants can be toxic to dogs and cats. Some of the most common dangerous flowers include:

⚠️ Lilies (EXTREMELY toxic to cats)
⚠️ Tulips
⚠️ Geraniums
⚠️ Hydrangeas
⚠️ Azaleas
⚠️ Sago Palms

Even small amounts can cause vomiting, diarrhea, breathing problems, kidney failure, or worse.

🐾 Keep floral arrangements out of reach and always check if a plant is pet-safe before bringing it home.

If you think your pet may have chewed on a toxic plant, contact your veterinarian immediately.
