We are again asking everyone to plan ahead for your wellness and routine appointments. We are sending out reminders a few months in advance for this reason. We are currently booking out about 6 weeks for wellness/ routine things so call and book your appointment a couple months in advance. It would also be helpful if a recheck appointment is recommended while you are here, it is best to make that appointment before you leave to assure we can get you in within the requested time frame. TIA for your planning and cooperation. As always we will get your sick or injured animals in when necessary which is why we are booking out for routine things.

We have half the staff out sick today so it will be just Savanah and I this morning so please have patience today. If we don’t answer the phone, please leave a message and Savanah will call you back as quickly as she can. If you are planning on picking up food or medication today, if you could come this afternoon, that would be best. If you arrive this morning and the door is locked please call the Clinic and Savanah will come out and help you as quickly as she can. Thank you in advance for your tolerance and patience.

It is with sadness that we announce we are back down to a one doctor practice. Dr. Martino has decided this was not the right position for her at this time and is headed on to new endeavors. We wish her the best!

🚨 UPDATE! 🚨

Thanks to your compassion and networking Sasha has been saved!!
The family thanks everyone for your help and Sasha has found safety for at least a few weeks. Thanks to Conner for the update and for reaching out to help save Sasha!

We also found out that Sasha IS vetted and fully up to date on her shots. We will find out if Sasha's foster family needs our assistance or a referral to a dog rescue to find her a loving forever home. If you think you'd like to give Sasha a forever home, there has to be NO OTHER ANIMALS in the house!!

We have had 3 people email us and we have passed along the number to the owners and we hope for a temporary or long term solution. If we dont have any positive outcomes with people who have contacted us we plan to reach out to some dog rescues.

The dog is located in Antioch and we do not know the policies of the shelters there. We have some information that the owners were asked to sign a euthanasia waiver if they surrendered the dog to the shelter.

We don't know if the 430 deadline was with a vet or that they were going to sign the form to surrender. We were given the story and the photos this morning and shared to try to save this life.

We know Sasha is not fixed, we dont know about her vaccine or testing status and we offered to accommodate vetting if someone stepped up to save Sasha. We are a cat rescue, we are just trying to help with whatever resources we have. Thanks to all for sharing and for your compassion.

Our hearts are breaking. Sasha, a happy, playful 2-year-old pup, is scheduled to be put to sleep TODAY at 4:30 PM if we don’t find her a foster or forever home. 💔

Sasha is full of energy and love, but she’s not getting along with the older dog in her current home. She’s not aggressive—just a young dog who needs space to run, play, and be her joyful self. This isn’t her fault.

If someone can step up to save Sasha, Como Critters will assist with all her vetting needs. 🩺

What we know about Sasha:
🐾 She’s a fun-loving 2-year-old with a zest for life.
🐾 Great with humans, but she’ll thrive best as the only pet or with a dog who matches her energy, no cats please.
🐾 Healthy and ready to be someone’s loyal best friend.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

With all the crud going around right now, like influenza A that seems to be spreading like wild fire, please remember…if you are not feeling well. STAY HOME. Cancel, reschedule or find a healthy person to bring your pet in if they are sick and cannot wait for you to get healthy. We will also over curbside assistance in the case of emergencies and everyone you know is sick. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen though. We have the air purifiers running on high 24/7 and we are diffusing oils and disinfecting like crazy, but please help us keep our limited staff at work and not spread the crud. Thanks in advance!
