Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support for animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will possess a love for animals and have experience in handling various breeds and sizes.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, walking, and exercising them.
Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by regularly cleaning cages, play areas, and common spaces.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming as needed.
Support pet sitting services by ensuring pets receive proper attention and care during their stay.
Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments for grooming or veterinary services.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
Skills

Proficient in dog handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with various breeds.
Experience in pet sitting or providing care for animals in a home or kennel environment.
Knowledge of basic pet grooming practices is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology or experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus.
Strong animal care skills, including the ability to recognize signs of distress or illness in pets.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving large bags of food or equipment.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.

Due to a surplus of No call/ no show appointments lately, we wanted to remind everyone of our policies. It is very important that you:
1. Show up to your scheduled appointment 2. Let us know you are not coming AT LEAST 24hrs in advance.
We understand things happen, but we are a service based business that relies on clients being here when they are scheduled.
Please be courteous and allow us time to try and fill your spot if you are unable to come!
I currently have a 4 week waiting period on grooming and a waiting list of clients whom want a sooner appointment, so when no call/ no show appointments happen it hurts our little business and those clients who are waiting on that list.
