This was my first grooming gig in Washington state about 31 years ago. A vet clinic in Mount Vernon with Dr Johnson. I groomed lots of cats! I was a little skinnier then, hehe.

Before this, I worked at a small alley shop in La Jolla, California for 2 years. Day 1, I was fired for my inexperience but begged for a 2nd chance😬! The rest is history!

Fancy, fancy! Wellington (a dalmatian) came in 2x a week for a bath and he moaned loudly while I scrubbed him, 😆. Ziggy, an apricot toy poodle, rode in a basket on his dad's Harley. He got a mohawk and wore a real leather jacket! So many stories. It was an interesting place to work! The old Burlington Argus wrote about that when I first opened. I'll have to post that story hard copy.

Before that, I volunteered at a friend's shop in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They bathed my cat for me and I was hooked. She was beautiful.

Today, about 31 years later, I'm still loving the pooches of Skagit County. Most of them love me back. Lol.

Am I always lecturing y'all about the comb, and using it thoroughly and regularly? Haha. I'm not in the business of torturing these pups. I want them to love being groomed! Admittedly, many will always hate it 😆. But it shouldn't be because of severely matted coats because that's totally preventable.

Happy Monday! You might notice Trey being a little more mellow this week. His foot is bothering him and as you know, I'm constantly yelling at him to go lay down. He can't. He loves to greet y'all. So now he's on meds. Don't tempt him to come see you. We need to see if his foot will heal on its own. Believe it or not, he can be mellow. See. 😆

Not sure the exact day Animal House Pet Grooming became a Sedro-Woolley Chamber member, but at the very least, it has been 13 years (while I was located on Hwy 20 in Burlington!). I became very good friends with Pola Kelley in the process of it all. I hope she is resting in peace. The chamber has been a vehicle to community participation, donations and establishment. I am grateful for the work of all Skagit chambers. In particular, ours right here at home. They are just great! Thank you for doing such a great job Monique!

All great ideas for most shops. Just know that if you stop in, I may not have time or energy to stop working on someone else's pet as I do it ALL SOLO (checking in, prepping, bathing, grooming, checking out, taking calls, cleaning, record keeping, inventory, and caring for every pet that comes through the door). I know, you're downtown and I'm right there, 😆. But I'm a busy shop.
Stop in anytime I'm open to get a quick gander, say "hello", grab a card but calling works best for long Q and A. Please don't be offended if I can't engage on the spot. I'm happy to return a call at the end of the day or during a short break. If I were working on YOUR pet, you would appreciate my undivided attention to them right? ❤️

At Animal House Pet Grooming, in Sedro-Woolley, WA, we use biodegradable, all natural shampoos and conditioners. In addition to general health issue alerts, every dog also gets nails trimmed, ears cleaned and plucked, a**l glands expressed (if applicable), light cologne and a bandana.
