Peanut made it through her emergency pyometra surgery and has been discharged into our care, where she’s now recovering comfortably!

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and sent love—your support made this lifesaving surgery possible.

Peanut’s case is also an important reminder: pyometra surgeries are serious, high-risk emergency procedures that only occur in unspayed dogs. This life-threatening uterine infection can progress quickly and requires immediate intervention.

Spaying isn’t just about preventing litters—it’s about preventing emergencies like this one.

This is just one more reason why we spay. 🐾💛

Emergency intake. Christmas Eve. Pyometra.

Tonight, Evergreen Pug Rescue took in an owner-surrendered pug suffering from pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection that requires immediate surgery to save her life.

This is not a surgery that can wait—and it’s also the worst time of year for an emergency like this. Many clinics are operating with limited staff, and some must bring in an on-call surgeon to perform the procedure.

💰 Estimated cost: ~$5,000

Straight from Santa’s workshop to your couch, Jeff the Christmas Elf is ready to bring joy all year long! This 9-month-old fawn pug is pretty much house-trained, not much of a barker, and LOVES playing with both big and small dogs. At 10–20 lbs, he’s the perfect size for sleigh rides (or naps).

It’s but Abuelo Pablo is wide awake looking for his forever family this holiday season. ❤️🎄

Pablo is a gentle and friendly guy approaching his golden years. As a part of his intake, we’ve had to do some pretty extensive dental work - and it’s pricey!! 💰
