🎉Welcome members of S.H.E.I.L.D”/Avengers🎉
We haven’t posted about these 5 yet. They have been in foster receiving medical care for SO SO many ailments, for a month now. While their medical expenses have been large (approx $1100+ in total, so far, before two of our vets), we haven’t reached out to fundraise.
Coming in from Yakima, WA., born in a small colony where they were suffering, to a super feral mama: They were all SO very sick- with the exception of who we were originally calling “Spicy Grey” as she was 100% feisty. She is now named “Gamora”.
They have been receiving care for URI’s- two with eyes severely affected, one for possible calicivirus (precautionary treatment), Ringworm, flea anemia & fleas, dehydration, malnourishment…
But! They have crested their uphill battle and are doing well. Their RW is clear. Their URI’s: clear. Unfortunately “Nick Furry” will be losing one of his eyes (hence the name), and possibly Hawkeye.
The girls: Gamora, Scarlett & Valkyrie are doing well. Valkyrie was a wildcard with one of her eyes but it has recovered so she should be good to go other then a little scarring that will likely go away with time. Scarlett was the least ill, and recovered before her littermates. Gamora- not super sick but a lot of work for her foster mom, with her uncertainty in trusting people.
These photos might still be hard for some of you to look at, but they are progress for them- and these photos are still not from this week, which we will post their updated update photos here as soon as their foster mom gets a moment to send more our way.
🐈⬛Photo 1: “Nick Furry” is the sweetest little guy. He came to us first- his littermates following over the next few days. He was the most critical and it’s hard to see if the original photo, but he was barely moving when trapped. So dehydrated, underweight and infection so bad he couldn’t breathe well. Now he purrs as soon as you begin interacting with him, likes to be held and cuddled. As soon as he’s healthy enough for surgery, he will undergo his enucleation to remove his eye.
🐈⬛Photo 2: Hawkeye, he’s a “sleeper” affectionate kitty. Meaning he will pretend he doesn’t like or want to be held/pet but as soon as it happens, he softens and remembers that he actually does like it. His eye is still up in the air, but we are monitoring and will act based off our vets recommendations.
🐈⬛Photo 3: Valkyrie is a shy little lady, but doesn’t mind being held, once she gets settled in. You can tell she wants to trust fully but has reservations since her previous life while sick, wasn’t the best with humans. She is working every day on letting her full friendly kitten side show.
🐱Photo 4: Scarlett was the least sick, but had the most areas affected by the Ringworm (since cleared!). She is scared at first when picked up but quickly settles in and trusts. The more time she gets, the more comfortable she becomes.
🐱Photo 5: Aaaaaah, Spicy Grey aka Gamora. This little lady has given her foster mom a run for her money with her level of heat. Definitely was a “small but mighty”, “big things come in small packages” type gal. But, she’s making progress each day. Mainly affected by URI and mild ringworm, she recovered pretty quickly after her antibiotic injection.
These littles are still being worked with, but are young enough to where we should be able to take fully & socialize.
