At Riverfront Riding Center our goal is to offer the attention and personal experience that you’ll come to expect and enjoy. “Not just another Lesson Barn a Family” and we are excited to share our knowledge and love of horses with you and your family. We are first a lesson stable, sharing and teaching through various established programs that will help you or your family member reach exciting equ

estrian milestones. We’ve provided services as a date night out for couples, small family groups, and larger groups such as for birthday’s, weddings, girl scout groups, school groups and many more, let us work to create what’s needed to meet your needs and or vision. Lesson services are primarily in the English discipline with various programs, including private and small group, after school programs (K-12) and for those who have the desire to compete, we offer the Riverfront Show Team. If there is a specific need or goal, you’ll find we do not limit our clients to only our regular programs or areas of service we are happy to work with you to design a plan that will meet your specific needs or accomplish your goals. Services offered in the Western discipline: Intro into Speed Eventing and Western Pleasure, these are offered on a more limited basis. During the school year, we have several "After School Programs" with plans for K-12, this provides transportation directly from the school to our stable. Groups fill up fast, so if this is something you’d like to try call for details and to be put on the pre-registration call list. Trail rides by advance appointment and subject to scheduling availability. Trail rides generally take place at one of the many historic locations in our immediate area or at one of the local Public Parks which have trails designed and designated specifically for horseback riding. Our years of experience finds this to make for a safer yet more exciting trail riding experience and it offers the ability to adjust to the type of ride our client’s desire. Riverfront Riding Center is located in the heart of York County in the small riverfront town of Seaford, VA, allowing easy access from Hampton, Williamsburg, Newport News and more. We are on our family farm which spans 5 generations, not often heard of anymore, something we are eternally grateful for and love to share. So come and let us share our love of the equestrian world and put our many years of experience to work for you!

Today we had to say a very sudden and unexpected goodbye to our Floofy as he crossed the rainbow bridge. Floofy was the friendliest barn cat you’ve ever met, always greeting you for a little scratch and hello. We will miss you sweet Floofy boy. 💔😿 🌈

It has been a very busy IEA filled December!!

Congratulations to our riders that have earned high point rider of the day, and to the best boy Sky on winning horse of the show!

Also congratulations to our High School Team for earning reserve high point team at the Riverfront @ Whippoorwill show this Sunday!

What a great month it has been! And now we rest up for the Holidays and we will be back at it in January!

We had a wonderful time this weekend celebrating at the beautiful Homestead resort for the Virginia Horse Show Association Year End Awards Ceremony. Darcy Brown and After The Rain bringing home 3rd place for the Pleasure Pony Division and Liliana Merical and Meredith Keesee’s Blue Moon Sky earning 5th in the Short Stirrup Division. This is such a huge accomplishment for both the girls and their ponies! We are incredibly proud of the both of you!

Last week RRC’s elite team competed at the 2024 VHSA Championship Finals as we closed our 2024 season. What an incredible time we had!!

A huge thank you to Hannah, who came to join us from college life at Emory and Henry to support our team, as well as to Emma, Kendyl, and Michelle for stopping by and showing team RRC support!

Jennifer Little and Tiger Lilly fulfilled a lifelong dream of competing at the Virginia Horse Center. Tilly is new to the hunter/jumper world and even more new to overnight horse showing and by the end of the show was an old pro! There were so many happy and proud tears shed by both rider and coach!

Juliette Darling and Rose’ All Day also made both of their overnight horse show debuts and did so fantastic! Juliette put in some impressive rides over the weekend, worked Rosie through some new obstacles, and even dressed up as the Queen and got to gallop in her gown. Rosie was such a good girl, and Juliette was patient and always sure to pat her pony and I just know Rosie will continue to become more and more confident developing into the hunter princess that I know she is!

Abigail Lenczewski and Ooh La La made massive improvements from this same show last year to now! Some absolutely beautiful and consistent t courses in the special hunter division and really starting to get the hang of asking Paris how to soften and show off that beautiful trot in the coliseum! It is bittersweet to coach this beautiful pair knowing that in just a few short months Abby will be graduating and going off to college, but I absolutely adore the way she loves Paris and their bond together!

Reagan Heitsman and Hawkeye Blue also had a very successful and bittersweet showing as Reagan is officially getting too tall for our perfect little Blue! They got some fantastic top ribbons in the pony hunter division and Reagan enjoyed her first in hand jog as well! These two have grown tremendously over their past few years.. from the early days of not being able to canter one full lap, to cantering entire 2’ courses… way to go!

Darcy Brown and After The Rain absolutely rocked it out in their 2’ special hunter division as well as a massive WIN in an extremely competitive pony pleasure class, ultimately winning them 3rd overall in VHSA for the entire year, earning them recognition at the VHSA convention in a few weeks at the Homestead Resort. These two are the definition of a team and they both show up for each other every time! Cat really enjoys Darcy’s competitive nature and her ability to really show Cat off. I love this pair!

Liliana Merical and Blue Moon Sky had a jaw dropping short stirrup course that got everyone’s attention and another impressive pony pleasure ribbon as well! Lilly and Sky have landed themselves a 5th place spot in the VHSA Short Stirrup for the year, and will also earn them recognition at the annual VHSA Convention at the Homestead Resort. Lilly absolutely adores Sky and their connection is undeniable. They are a special pair and Sky has taught Lily SO much! Lily’s charisma is always so admirable, and she and Sky match each others energy. Way to go Lily and Sky!

We are having so much fun at Finals!! Today we enjoyed an absolutely GORGEOUS day trail riding around the VHC!!

Reagan and Hawkeye Blue won an impressive 5th ribbon in a competitive small/medium pony division!
