Goose is wearing a collar! The harness wasn't helping much so we put in a collar which will take some getting used to. Easier to guide with a collar than having to fight him in the harness.

Mona out at a public park just enjoying life. Sometimes you have to just let a dog be a dog, and do dog things!

Goose getting introduced to heel. We like to put an implied sit when we stop. We start off slow with only a few steps at a time. I don't expect a puppy to go really far when we start to help mitigate mistakes for clear understanding.

Goose is very much in the piranha phase of puppy teeth. So we're trying to substitute biting people with biting toys. You can take away anything they shouldn't have and give them something they can to build better habits and boundaries.

Today we started teaching Goose the place command. It can be a useful tool in giving your puppy a place to be calm and even out of the way especially because he's going to be a big boy. As you can see he is a smart boy and he seems to have a lot of potential!

Meet Goose everyone!! He's a Saint Bernard puppy who's new people are so excited to have him! It's always a good thing to start training as soon as you can. If you establish a solid foundation of rules, boundaries, and structure especially when they're a puppy it helps mitigate problems in the future. It's easier to teach than to un-teach.

Working with Mona on heel. I've had quite a few reactive dogs to train and a lot of the time when you add structure like heel the threshold starts to shrink. Clear communication. It's just us out here Mona let me worry about the rest.

I'm thinking of training Travis in some type of scent work. He's young, full of energy, and has a decent amount of drive to chase and find. I think we might have to try it out and see how he does. Let me know in the comments what you think. Personally I think he would do well and it would be very fulfilling for him.
