We’re reaching out to share an important update about Animal Clinic Del Rancho and what it means for your pet’s care. After many years of serving pets and families in Scottsdale, our hospital will close Friday, Dec. 11, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. We were unable to reach lease terms that would allow us to remain at our current location.

We know a change in veterinary care can require extra planning. Our team will continue seeing patients through our final day, and we want to give you time to arrange your pet’s next appointment, refill medications and request records if needed. For ongoing care, we recommend Dynamite Animal Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner approximately 14 miles away. Dynamite offers primary care, emergency and urgent care, bathing and grooming for dogs and cats, and accepts Thrive Plus.

If your pet needs medication refills, please request them before Dec. 11. After Dec. 11, our legal authority to approve prescriptions ends, meaning other clinics (including Thrive partner clinics) cannot legally fill your refills without a new physical exam. Please request your pet’s refills now to avoid medication delays and ensure continuous care.

In honor of National Microchipping we want to discuss the importance of having your pet microchipped. 🐾
 
A microchip is permanent ID that goes beneath your pet’s skin and unlike a collar tag it cannot fall off or become difficult to read. 
Every microchip has a unique identification number which can be linked to your contact information and you can update the contact information as needed.
 
When a lost pet is taken to a shelter, humane society or clinic the pet is scanned for a microchip. If a microchip is located, using the microchips unique identification number the pet is reported as found to the microchip company and the owner is then contacted with the news and arrangements begin for reuniting the pet with their family.
 
Although all pets should wear collar tags imprinted with their name and owners phone number, only a microchip provides permanent identification that cannot fall off, be taken off or become difficult to read.
