Dutch is a Stabbyhound who is an ongoing student enrolled in my Virtual Dog Training Program to learn all the things. He originally started training with me to develop cooperative behaviors when outdoors and off leash because he finds the world so fascinating that he would ignore his owner when he found interesting smells to follow.

His engagement with his owner has improved greatly with their hard work but we had to make a major shift in his training program to accommodate exercise restriction because he is rehabiliting a soft tissue injury. He has developed some reactivity due to physical pain and exercise restriction so his guardians are committed to:

👉 Using medication support for pain management
👉 Custom fitness and physical rehabilitation treatments for healing
👉 Building positive associations with pattern games
👉 Providing decompression enrichment

Additionally, Dutch is soon to be a brother to a new human sibling which means he has begun baby preparation training which includes:

👉 Confined Separation to prepare for baby tummy time
👉 Counterconditioning environmental and baby noises for bark prevention
👉 Loose Leash Walking with a baby stroller
👉 Functional Obedience for daily life

He has made so much progress. I am so proud of the hard work that Dutch and his guardians have accomplished.

Good boy, Dutch 💚

Adrian completed her third week of behavior modification board and train. She is making progress and building confidence with each passing day! She still is anxious but she is able to observe and learn that she is safe. This is a huge accomplishment for her because she was very fearful in new environments during the early portions of her stay with me.

I am still focused on building positive associations while increasing the challenges as she is able to handle them. Her primary focus in behavior modification is:

👉 Building confidence in the world
👉 Muzzle conditioning for dog-dog socialization
👉 Reactivity towards unknown children and dogs

I am so proud of how far she has come in the past three weeks. She is here to stay for one more week to progress the skills she has learned.

Good job, Adrian 🌸

Achieving results in dog training does not happen overnight...I will not pretend that these results came easy to these teams but their hard work does not go unnoticed! I am so proud of what these teams have accomplished 🤩🤩🤩

Adrian has completed her second week of behavior modification board and train for Generalized Fear and Anxiety, Resource Guarding, and Reactivity. She is slowly opening up and is beginning to learn more with each passing day.

I focused on ensuring she felt safe with my personal dog (Quest, German Shorthaired Pointer) because he is helpful in showing dogs how a confident and neutral dog behaves in new and unpredictable environments while also giving them the space that they want. Her training is focused on building positive associations with:

👉 Wearing a muzzle for a long duration of time
👉 Unknown dogs and children
👉 Calm observation of the world beyond the backyard

She is a very smart girl and I have no doubts that she can become an ideal canine citizen once she learns that the world is not a scary place. I'm thrilled with her progress in the past week and I look forward to seeing how she blossoms in the next two weeks of her stay.

Good girl, Adrian 🌸

Maggie is a German Shorthaired Pointer in my virtual training program to learn the skills needed for Cooperative Toy Play. She is in training for Search and Rescue with her amazing guardian who works for Penn Vet Working Dog Center!

I am incredibly honored to be teaching this amazing team the foundations needed to develop cooperation with toys so that they can be used as reinforcement during deployment.

Welcome Maggie ✨

Adrian completed her second week of behavior modification board and train. I have continued to provide controlled environmental exposure to build positive associations so that she can learn that the world is not a scary place.

She also had a visitation field trip to see her guardian for them to spend time and train together. They both practiced the skills that I taught Adrian during her stay with me. Her guardian is dedicated to helping her develop the confidence she needs to feel safe in the world.

She is a very smart girl and I have no doubts that she can become an ideal canine citizen once she learns that the world is not a scary place. I'm thrilled with her progress in the past week and I look forward to seeing how she blossoms in the next two weeks of her stay.

Good job, Adrian! 🌸

Palmer the service dog has completed her stay with me to learn new tasks to provide her guardian 🐕‍🦺 She only had two goals – Medical Retrieve and Canine Conditioning. Throughout her time with me she has learned more than just that. She has gone home with the skills for:

👉 Cooperative Toy Play for tugging and informal retrieves
👉 Formal Retrieve to transition into a medical retrieve
👉 Hind Limb Exercises to improve coordination and strength
👉 Tucking and Crawling into small spaces to enhance her public access skills
👉 Delayed Reinforcement Procedures to work on advanced training concepts
👉 Food Control skills to prevent the consumption of dropped medication

She still has work to do in order to complete the medical retrieve but she has all of the skills needed to progress towards that goal. She was a joy to have and a wonderful student to train. She is the perfect candidate for service work and I am beyond honored that I am trusted to teach her some skills she needs to do her job.

Well Done, Palmer! ✨✨✨
