Lake Cumberland K-9 Training Center, LLC

Lake Cumberland K-9 Training Center, LLC I train for basic obedience, advanced obedience and tracking. LCK-9 is evolving each and every day. With this being said, we are also making these changes:

1.

Specialize in behavior modifications such as: separation anxiety, obsessive compulsive, destruction, aggression (very selective as to what type of aggression), housebreaking issues, etc. We started at our new facility 4 years ago and were housing 40 dogs. 2 years ago we cut that number in half and we have been keeping roughly 20-25 dogs. We are now entering our last phase of the business, where we

will be housing 12 dogs only. Our prices will be increasing due to high demand, cost of labor, quality of training increase and with more hands on time with me personally.

2. We are no longer taking on unneutered male dogs. This lowers the chances of any arguing with other dogs and helps with the training process such as stubbornness, and aggression. Unspayed females are welcome as long as they are not close to their heat cycle.

3. We are going to be charging for home visits instead of doing these for free. This will help to hold owner accountability, with proper follow through training once at home. I have to do these visits on the weekend, along with gas and wear and tear of my vehicle.

4. I still offer a free week tune up however, it must be within one month of your dog going home from training. Not 6 months to a year later. If it’s over a month there will be a fee appropriately charged.

5. We are closing on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. We will only be doing the 6 week obedience classes, AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) AKC STAR puppy throughout the week and taking in for the boot camp along with graduations from boot camp. We are open 10am to 3pm but we will be extending our hours through the week from 10am to 6pm in order to accommodate clients.

6. Our prices will be increasing with dogs 60lbs and over. Larger dogs are more time consuming and require more physical labor.

7. With these changes, the dynamics within the business will benefit you and your dog. Your dog will receive an even better quality of training, receive more quantity of training time, plenty of one on one attention from employees and more quality training time with me as the owner/head trainer. LCK9 loves and appreciates each and every one of our clients.

LCK-9 is highly proactive

HOW PROACTIVE ARE WE??

We are a facility that is very dedicated to being proactive with the health care of each dog in our care. We have 3 veterinarians that we contract to come to our facility once a month to do an inspection and also come regularly to check on the dogs along with examining anyone if needed. We are extremely proactive and train our staff on the health and wellness of the dogs before anything else. Some may think we are excessive and extremely strict on our protocols here with cleaning along with shot requirements at LCK-9. However, a sick dog is unable to get the training needed while here. Therefore, we require all boosters, bordatella (Kennel cough) and the first round of flu vaccine.

Even though we do everything possible to keep your dog healthy, there is always a chance that your dog could come down with a stomach bug, upper respiratory infection, kennel cough and various other illnesses. Your dog could get hurt by wrestling or playing rough with his/her peers. We can not control every scenario any more than schools can for our children. We do everything we possibly can to keep these dogs safe! We maintain the health of each one of these dogs and even stay up through the night with them if they have a stomach bug. We care and love them as our own!!
