Hardin County Animal Services of Tennessee strives to protect public health and welfare while enforcing humane animal treatment. We envision reuniting lost pets with their owners; placing animals in caring and responsible homes; educating the community about animal responsibility; and controlling and maintaining the issue of unwanted, stray and neglected animals as humanely as possible. Adoptions:

$50 per dog, $100 per puppy, $25 per cat, $50 per kitten (includes spay/neuter, microchip for dogs, vaccinations and 30-days of complimentary pet insurance). Surrenders: $10 per animal with shot records, $20 per animal without shot records

Redemptions: $10/day in shelter per animal plus any other applicable fees for shots, treatments, etc

… and she’s back🥺

Rocher came to the shelter as a pup, and was adopted out very shortly after her arrival back in February. She was adorable!! Skinny, big clumsy paws, and a whopping 16lbs👶🏻

Here she is ~ Still adorable of course, but she now has grown into those big ol’ paws, and she’s weighing in at a hefty 57lbs!

Rocher’s time spent with the new family may have been fun at times, but it was unfortunately not very productive for her. She spent all of her time outdoors, and she was left to be “trained” by children. Needless to say, within 4 months, the cute little untrained puppy turned into a cute BIG untrained puppy, and she was retuned to the shelter for just that reason🫤

Y’all, she’s still a pup!! A beautiful 10 month old girl eager and willing to learn and thrive! She is 10 months old✔️ spayed✔️current on vaccinations✔️Rabies vaccinated✔️HW negative✔️microchipped✔️and ready for her FURever home!!🏡

AAAAAAAAMAZING!!!🤩

HUGE THANK YOU to Kara’s Kritters for breaking our sweet Wally out of the shelter, and into Planet Doggie Fun Land for the day!! Such a fun, well~deserved, very much needed retreat for this boy♥️ Just look at him having the time of his life!!
We told you we have great dogs here at the shelter!

Wally is an absolute sweetheart, and he’s been cooped up in this shelter for a year (next week)🙁 He deserves SO MUCH MORE!! Come meet him for yourself ~ he’s AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!🤗

Ever heard the saying boys will be boys?? Well, it even applies to dogs!

If you walk through the shelter, you’ll notice all these male dogs going nuts in their kennels!🤪 They’re loud and they’re jumpy, but let’s not forget that’s their job! The shelter is currently their “home”, so barking at strangers is just what they do🤷🏻‍♀️

These boys don’t get a fair chance, so we’re going to make it a little bit easier for them. For the remainder of June, ALL MALE DOGS WILL HAVE A $10 ADOPTION FEE!!🤗 Not because they’re bad in any way, simply because they’re good dogs that deserve a chance in life.

If there is a dog you are interested in, but you’re not a fan of his kennel behavior, ASK US! We will be happy to get him out, and you can meet him OUTSIDE of those kennel gates. We promise, it makes a difference!💙

Our Story

Hardin County Animal Services of Tennessee strives to protect public health and welfare while enforcing humane animal treatment. Our goals are to reunite lost pets with their owners, place homeless animals in caring and responsible forever homes, educate the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay and neuter as well as the importance of keeping a current vaccine schedule including rabies and parasite prevention. Adoptions: $50 per dog/puppy, $25 per cat/kitten (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations and 30-days of complimentary pet insurance). Surrenders by appointment only: $10 per dog/cat. Pet Reclaiming fee: $10/per day in shelter per animal with an additional charge of $20 if vaccinations are given prior to claim.
