As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that dogs can overheat much faster than humans. Heat stroke can happen quickly and may become life-threatening, especially during walks on hot pavement, outdoor play, or time spent in parked cars. Signs of overheating include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, bright red gums, or difficulty walking. Always provide fresh water, shade, and limit activity during the hottest parts of the day. If the ground is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws too your dog will thank you for the extra caution this summer!
