We have a really nice, 9 week old female puppy available from our Loups du Soleil JJJ litter (Ricky du Chemin de L’Esperance FR2 and Edit du Loups du Soleil MR3). A last minute cancellation made her available. Really nice puppy! Contact .the.mal for details.

Another clip from our five day Reactivity Workshop. Leash skills are an integral part of all dog training, but they become especially important when dealing with reactivity. As with many of our training skills they take practice, even if you use a stuffed Zebra 😊 The entire five day workshop is available in our membership.

Join us for a three-day, deep dive into the process of creating powerful and durable reward events. We will explore reinforcement as both a results driven process characterized by mechanical skills and intentional steps, as well as a genetically-driven and highly nuanced social interaction based on cooperation, structure, and a wide range of unique and variable choices throughout the training process. See details at our website under in-person training. https://michaelellisschool.com/product/positive-reinforcement-workshop-in-santa-rosa-ca-june-19-21-2026/

A little snippet from the deep dive Reactivity Workshop I did with my good friend, a while back.
Staying calm and present when handling reactive dogs is a necessary skill that can be learned, but it takes practice! The entire 5 day workshop was just added to our membership service today, check it out through our website.

A tradition at the Kynology events is our group training before, and often, after class. Here are a few clips of Forrest and I training my dog, Snug (full sessions in our membership) recently. Kynology focuses on the confluence of science and practice, but no one says it can’t be fun 😊 Visit the Kynology website to register, there are both in-person and virtual options. Hope to see you there!

Good dog training is all about the process. Enjoying the incremental progress that comes with showing up consistently and doing the work. The joy lives in the process! When we cut corners or look for quick fixes we create unnecessary drama and are almost always less effective. Revel in the journey and focus just a little less on getting to your goal asap.

We had an amazing time in Mexico City! Thank you to Darshan and Adela for organizing an incredible event and venue, and thank you to all who attended and participated, your passion and curiosity is inspiring! Hasta pronto!!

I am a huge proponent of making sure our rewards are meaningful to the dog, and that they serve a purpose in terms of moving our training, and our dog’s understanding forward. Avoid empty, half committed repetitions in favor of fewer very invested repetitions.
This is another one of many tangents from our workshop on Finishing Work last year. Check out the whole workshop in our membership service.

As with many of the techniques we use during training, crating a dog before and after training sessions has an upside and a potential downside. Understanding how various techniques work allows us to choose the path that’s right for the dog in front of us.
See the whole video in our membership service. Visit our website for details.
