Good reminder to stay on top of your pups heartworm treatments.

How do dogs get heartworms⁉️

They are caused by a mosquito picking up microscopic Heartworm larvae (Microfilariae) from the blood of an infected animal. Inside the mosquito, the larvae matures in 10-14 days. When that infected mosquito bites another animal, the larvae enters the bloodstream.

It takes about 6 months for the larvae to travel through the bloodstream, eventually reaching the heart where they mature into foot long adult worms. 😦

In short terms, pet's get heart worms through the bite of an infected mosquito.

*NEW HOME NEEDED FOR LOVELY DOG!*

I recently found this adorable dog in Destin, but unfortunately, the owner has declined to reclaim him.

This sweet boy is: a pitbull mix, around 1 year old, he is so sweet, friendly and energetic.

We're seeking a loving new home for this deserving pup! If you're interested in adopting, please send me a message.

Update: Miles found his forever family. He is adjusting well and seems very happy. I still get to care for him. Thanks to all for your interest and for sharing.

This is Miles. He is a beautiful 2.5 year old 70lb neutered golden doodle who is in search of a loving family. Utd with vaccinations. Good with other dogs and children. I can attest to his good manners as I’ve kept him at my place several times. Current owners love him and are just overwhelmed with too much on their plate. They took him on out of a big heart as he was being kept temporarily by someone else who did not have the right environment for this type of dog. They are in no rush to send him off as they are wanting his new home to be his forever family. If you or someone you know is interested please reach out.
