STAND UP FOR LA'S ANIMALS — JOIN THE BUDGET CUT PROTEST!
🐾📢🐶🐱

Mayor Bass has empowered Jacqueline Hamilton to unilaterally dismantle LA Animal Services.
Instead of implementing programs that generate revenue — like enforcing dog licensing and spay/neuter laws — they’re slashing budgets, possibly closing shelters, and leaving animals to suffer in horrific conditions.💔

Enough is enough.‼️
LA’s animals deserve better. Our city deserves better. It’s time to show the City Council that we will not stand by while this department is destroyed.

JOIN US AT TWO CRITICAL PROTESTS:

📍 FRIDAY — Van Nuys City Hall @ 1pm
📍 MONDAY — Downtown LA City Hall @ 3pm

These protests come ahead of a City Council vote that could deeply impact LA Animal Services. We need a show of force to demand real solutions — and real leadership.

We are not the organizers of this protest, but we fully support it.
Let’s be the voice for the voiceless.

BE THERE. BE LOUD. BE UNIGNORABLE.

These furry rockstars are ready to leave the shelter life behind and hit the road to something real, a home.

Dillon and Moe aren’t a bonded pair, but they’ve become festival tent besties.
They’re down to keep sharing the stage, or split up for their own solo gigs! Either way, they’re ready to headline someone’s heart.

Taking the mic tonight:
P***y Chewster.
Unforgettable and full of heart.
She’s been waiting for someone to give her an encore, a forever home with front-row love.

If you’re in the LA area, send us a message and come meet your new favorite bandmate.
And if you can’t adopt, SHARE this post and help these legends find their next stop..home!

We’ve got purpose, attitude, and merch that screams louder than the guy in the pit who definitely pulled something.

Take Me Home is hitting Sonic Temple doing what we do best: Funding real rescue work. The gritty kind. The late-night transport kind. The vet bill nightmare kind.

Come find us. Buy a shirt. Support the chaos that actually makes a difference.

It’s loud. It’s messy. It saves lives.
Basically, it’s the headliner you didn’t know you needed.

Now, who is coming to see us???

Hope to see you!!!

💔Urgent: LA Animal Services Must Reinstate Direct Phone Lines!

Did you know that LA Animal Services has disconnected all direct phone lines to shelters? Now, everyone must call the 888 main number and navigate through prompts—only to get disconnected with no answer.

Recently, a horrific case of animal abuse surfaced in a video, showing a man violently attacking a dog. The exact address and apartment number were listed, making the case undeniable. Despite repeated calls to report this, nobody answered the main phone lines.

After the devastating California fires, one would expect LAAS to prioritize emergency calls—but they are failing both animals and taxpayers.

Zoom into or call into the LA Animal Services Commission meeting tomorrow morning and demand change!

📅 Tuesday at 9:30 AM (Public Comment is at the beginning)

Click the agenda link to access the Zoom meeting

What to Demand:🐾🐾🐾🐾

✔️ Reinstate direct phone numbers so people can reach shelters immediately.

✔️ Ensure an actual person answers the emergency line for urgent animal abuse cases.

✔️ Take immediate action on reported abuse cases—before the dog disappears or suffers further harm.

✔️ Implement real emergency protocols to prevent delays in abuse investigations.

✔️ Work with LAPD to create a unified database for domestic violence and animal abuse cases.

This poor dog—and all animals in crisis—deserve better. Call in and make your voice heard! If you want to watch the video, we can send you the link. It was really disturbing so we did not post it. 💔

Please call into the Commission this Tuesday @ 9:30 and speak on Agenda Item 4H to say you want the commission to vote on policy and contracts as it was intended. Also, for public comment ask for transparency on the dumping of friendly cats back onto city streets‼️ Where are the numbers, caregivers and feeders⁉️

🟢*Call in info is on the post.*

This is a transcript from the Commission meeting about their releasing friendly cats into city streets.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
ALISON FEATHERSTONE, president asks:
“For the Community Cat program we don’t let out friendly cats, right? We make sure that the cats that are put back outside are feral, not friendlies?”

ANNETTE RAMIREZ LA City Shelter Manager REPLY: The, the Community Cat program that was adopted by City Council covers ALL cats, so as long as it is healthy, it is over six months, it is sterilized and put back where it came from.

ALISON FEATHERSTONE then asks:
Okay, so it is sterilized, put back out… but we don’t know if that is somebody’s cat? We don’t know is it, somebody who dumped a cat? You know, do all…..this is my question I am definitely allergic to cats, so I only have ferals that I feed at my office. That are spayed and neutered, let me say that. But, how do we know they weren’t someones cat who was dumped that can… do cats who are friendly and were like a family cat, can they fend for themselves.? This is honestly a question I don’t know the answer to.

ANNETTE RAMIREZ LA City Shelter Manager REPLY :
So, the idea is, if the cat is healthy, it obviously has a caregiver, if the cat looks unkempt, looks thin, sickly, it is not thriving in the environment where it’s at. But if it looks healthy, it looks good, it appears that someone in that area is caring for the cat.
Um, I have a feral cat colony myself and I know I’m not the only person that feeds my cats. You know, I know there is at least two or three other neighbors in, on my block that feed the same cats.
So, Just because you don’t know who EXACTLY the caregiver is, doesn’t mean that but there isn’t one. So if a cat looks healthy, then there is someone is caring for that cat.

ALISON FEATHERSTONE

🆘This Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. sharp, please call into Public Comment for Agenda Item 4H‼️

LA Animal Services has been bypassing the Animal Commission’s authority on key contract votes—like the one for consultant Kristen Hassen. The Animal Commission exists to bridge the gap between the community and the department, ensuring oversight. But their power is being undermined by the mayor’s office, which is preventing them from voting and working around their authority.

We need to hold LA Animal Services accountable and demand transparency.

🟢Please call in on zoom on phone. Instructions on how to call in are on the post. ! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
