Shepherd with a Heart of Gold ✨

Meet Canyon AKA Ace. His name means strength  and that’s exactly what carried him through a broken leg, surgery, and a tough start. This approximately 4 to 5-year-old German Shepherd is healing, grateful, and ready for his forever family. 💛

Do you believe in the phrase “it takes a village”? Canyon is living proof of that. He came into the South LA shelter with a fractured front leg and no time left, he had to be rescued that very day or he wouldn’t make it out. Volunteers immediately knew he was special. Even from a quiet medical room where no one could see him, his gentle spirit shined through in a little video that moved hearts to action.

With no real plan but endless determination, his village came together to pull him and we funded his surgery to give him the chance he deserved. And what a gem he is! Even while in pain, Canyon melted the hearts of the surgeon and her staff, who all raved about his sweet, gentle soul.

His name couldn’t be more fitting. Canyon symbolizes strength, resilience, and beauty shaped by life’s challenges. That’s exactly who he is. Today, Canyon is thriving in his medical foster home, healing beautifully, and showing so much gratitude for his second chance. He is recovering next to another Shepherd with a fracture and they are enjoying each other's company.

Please email [email protected] for more information on this beautiful soul. 💜

🐾 BONNIE IS HOME — but NOT thanks to LA Animal Services and Mayor Bass.

After LAAS gave Bonnie to the wrong person — unspayed 🚫🐶 and in direct violation of their own policy, we sent multiple emails to the department 📧:
➡️ Solomon Rivera
➡️ Annette Ramirez
➡️ Jaqueline Hamilton
➡️ The Commissioners

We even offered a 💰 reward to the man for her safe return.
Not. One. Response.

Once again, LA Animal Services chose 🤐 silence over transparency.
It could’ve been so simple to do the right thing. ✅

When Bonnie was finally returned, by the man, LAAS got caught lying to Bonnie’s mom. They didn't tell Brianna the truth on when Bonnie came back. Brianna was already suffering so much emotional distress.

Bonnie came back riddled with fleas and is now sick.

The man they gave her to didn't appear to treat her for fleas, did LAAS even ask him about it?
Probably not.
They likely just handed him another dog. 🐶

📜 We also read their new adoption contract and it’s full of contradictions and confusion. 🤯
📌 If you're adopting or part of rescue, READ IT.

We’re grateful Bonnie is home 🙏❤️

This isn't the first time but must be the LAST.

A woman adopted a cute little dog from LA’s deadly, diseased animal pounds on Saturday. Only in Karen Bass‘s f**ked-up LA could things go this bad. Indifference is the primary barrier to fixing it.

🚨 WHERE IS BONNIE? 🚨
South LA Animal Shelter gave away a legally adopted dog to the wrong person and now Bonnie is missing.

A woman adopted Bonnie, signed all the legal paperwork, and was told to return after Bonnie’s spay surgery to take her home. But when she arrived, the shelter told her they accidentally gave Bonnie to someone else, someone who left no working phone number and listed an abandoned building as their address.

The shelter is calling it a “mix-up” with another dog, but the records show that the other dog isn’t even available for adoption until July 31st.
Two different dogs. Two different ID numbers. One huge mistake. 💔

Now, Bonnie could be on the street just hours after surgery, with a fresh surgical incision.

Bonnie’s rightful adopter is devastated and wants her dog back. The shelter must take responsibility and act urgently to find her.

📢 South LA Shelter needs to actively find Bonnie. There is a high probability that the man who has Bonnie could be living on the street right by the shelter.

Bonnie deserves the loving home that was waiting for her. 😢

The TMH Dream Team who makes the miracles happen for the animals.
They worked through the rain, day and night, at Inkcarceration Festival so that Take Me Home can keep saying, "yes," we can help an animal in need. ❤️

Thank you!🐾🐾🖤
