Sees Candy Fundraiser!
Please help us in continuing to save lives like Spicy Nugget here who is a 14 year old senior we rescued from the Santa Monica Shelter. Spicy Nugget was "found" as a stray and brought in by someone who claimed she was running through the streets, but seemed to be quite calm/comfortable in their arms and in fact, they didn't bother to turn off their car when they took her in. The shelter officers felt that Spicy Nugget was not a stray. We got her into a wonderful forever foster home where she is now one of our sanctuary dogs due to her age and medical issues. She has recently gone blind and has been dealing with lens luxation which is dislocation of the eye's lens. We have taken her to a specialist and we are starting treatment, but there is possibility her eye might need to be removed. Fundraisers like this one help us to help dogs like Spicy Nugget!

Clifford, the sweet, gentle 2 year old boy needs a foster or forever home. Please help us get him out of the shelter!
This amazing, zero aggression, 80 pound boy, who is unfazed by all the loud barking around him, just wants to be loved and needs to be in a lovjng home and out of the shelter. We just need a FOSTER for him or, of course, a forever home would be even better! Clifford is at the Santa Monica Shelter if you know anyone interested in meeting him.

Yesterdays rescues - one shelter senior and four puppies - I’ll post their story later this week- but we were contacted last night about another poor, emaciated senior boy that needs a foster by the 9th- so -one senior safe- one more senior to save this week! We were contacted by the Santa Monica shelter who desperately wanted us to get this sweet 13 year old girl out. Gina, our rescue director went to get her out yesterday while I was taking in the four new puppies. Our day was not done - we got a call about a senior boy found on the streets in bad shape. He is safe and getting vet care but needs a foster by the 9th. He is 6 pounds but should be at least 13-15 pounds. He’s been named Wolfie. Our new shelter senior girl is happy and will go into our sanctuary program as she is mostly blind. Gina will take excellent care of her as her favorite dogs are seniors. We’ve named her Mini. Santa Monica shelter fund covered her dental. Thank you!

Beautiful, sweet Lucy- returned to us after 12 years in a home!
Now thirteen-years-old and weighing 13 1/2 pounds this lovely, red spaniel mix is now back in our foundation. This is the second dog in 5 months returned to us after years in a home. We. ALWAYS take our dogs back - it’s in our contract. Do you remember sweet Lei Lei who was also returned after 11 years in a home? There stories are the same- adopter got married, had a child- in both cases the dogs were returned when the child was two-years-old- same story that the dogs, who are both completely non-aggressive- were air-biting around the child and so they needed to go. No trainer or call to us to ask for help was ever made. Good new though- Lei Lei with the help of Toni Vanston/DaisyLu Ranch is in a wonderful foste to adopt - she’s with a woman who dotes on her. We are truly hoping to find the same great, new home for our Lucy Lu who is living with me and my pack. She’s good with dogs and all adults - I have not have around kids but let’s skip that for her- she loves going on walks - a truly beautiful dog who deserved much better than this is her golden years! FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Buddy....A Most Deserving Dog! PLEASE SHARE!
This handsome boy deserves and needs a great home as he was bounced from one shelter, to an adopter, only to then be returned to another shelter. The staff at Santa Monica Shelter fell in love with him and reached out to us for help. We took one look at his sweet face and after hearing his story, we knew we had to help and got him out immediately. Buddy is a sweet and loving boy that loves people! He craves and deserves love and affection. Buddy would be best as an only dog. He loves to spoon with you in bed and is an excellent watch dog. Buddy has received the most excellent one on one training. We want this lovable boy to have stability in his life and the forever home he deserves.
